how hard is it to break your septum in your nose? If you were to push on it hard enough?

Because the septum is not technically a bone but instead hard cartilage it is not very hard to break. Consider the fact that your collar bone takes about 6-8 lbs of torque pressure to break and the bones in your body are stronger than the cartilage septum in your nose. I had a friend who went into the doctor a few months ago and the doctor told him that he had broken his nose at least four times. My friend never even knew. This is more rare but it shows that it can sometimes be broken easily. If your really wanted to break it on purpose though it would take quite a bit of effort to overcome the human instinct not to hurt one's self.

A sharp needle pierces lowest non cartileginous septum without much force. Cartileginous upper part needs more force and is more painful.

Pushing will be harder than an impact - from the side.
