Religion??

Technologically we are advanced, but as a community are we still behind? We stereotype men of faith being nothing but ignorant, maybe there is a reason why they are men of faith (or women sorry!), and maybe there is a reason why faith is increasing? We sterotype Mulim men and women as terroist, all of them. However there are about 1billion muslims in the world and only a bunch of people are doing not very smart things such as holding up banners saying "Our faith is peaceful, die who does not agree" (Something like that). However religious men also target Atheists. Yes I agree some people may find the muslim veil a bit too much, but put yourself in their shoes, they find you a bit too much. Its not only religions and atheism, colour is targeted too, also ethnicity! People in the west are scared of people with these charicteristics black, Islamic, women (not scared but still are 'against' them). My teacher is absolutely scared of a white christian middle-aged man.(see below)

George Walker Bush sets great examples. Besides it's not only the Islamic community who are terrorists, are we forgetting about the Klu Klax Klan (Sorry!!) Are we forgetting the slave trade? Please, think carefully what you say as you may offend people. Research everything, everyones culture before you say anything, and you'll find out some wonderful beautiful things. I am not trying to offend anyone but the offensive small minded people

No I am not saying ANYONE is a terrorist because that would be generalising. No one group is a terrorist I am just 'waking' up the white people to the opposite views. Thats actually my teachers words... Actually these are "I am scared Sh** of white christian middle-aged men, because they actually have to power to go and bomb defenceless countries like Iraq" So no Im not being racist. I wish it was simple, but its not, and Im just trying to wake up peoples brains.

Whatever happened to counting to ten? And dealing violence with peace?

I guess it musta been forgotten in all this hatred and racism.

Also I would add that some people who are racist have a right. I heard (HEARD) south Africa is racist, but they have a right because of what the 'White' man has done. Stripped them of their riches and left in desperate poverty! Other than that you dont really have a reason to hate...

Also what is this nonsense of people going overboard to not offend peope? Thats offensive as well! For example someone who was doing an xmas card "Oh well we cant have the snow white, it may offend black people" etc The world is so confusing.

I also want to add look at mixed race people. They are not accepted by most cultures 'groups'!

Yes extremist do hold the world back! Im not saying lets all become one, Im saying lets understand each other, and not be racist, sexist homophobic or any other sort of ist of phobics. Lets all forget about this massive debate about who is right, because the truth being, if we all carry on like this we will ALL be wrong! I was taught this "IF you get angry, cry or sulk, then even if your absolutely right, you'll be in the wrong" So why cant we not fight, get angry, cry or sulk? Also I am very sorry for all the extra info I doshed in here.
I would also like to add to people who post up here "which religion is right" You are the most annoying disgusting thing ever. You are causing a massive debate between people. SEARCh around, heck if cant be bothered use wikipedia. Everyone is right in their own different way

Morgan, sorry but I am not feeling too well today, and I find it hard to understand your answer. Perhaps if you could clear it up? Thanks. I also want to add that many people declare that Muslims forced people to turn to Islam in the Ottomen empire days, but actually that was not the case. Please study your history, infact as I have studied I have found out that was not the case, and plus Muslims had to pay 2 taxes, others only 1. Anyways, Im not going to 'defend' anything for much longer unless there is a direct attack on it. I wont reply to the mental ill problem that someone said, because it just shows how narrowminded they are brecause they are not even CONsidering my argument. Also if someone calls me narrow minded, they could at least explain why, when I have brought out my opinions and they havent.

Also when you are talking about how the modern intellectual feels that the man/ woman of faith is unlearned. The Moors in Spain never forced conversion. In fact they encouraged studies in science, philosophy, medicine, etc. During this time persecuted Jews and Christians from other parts of Europe would go to Moorish Andalusia, now called Spain for protection of their beliefs. The Moors in Spain would protect the beliefs and rights of all people of the book in their territiories. Christians, Jews, and Muslims would study side by side in great universities. Sorry, I was trying to show how good life was for everyone in Spain for everyone. I will try to clear it up. I hope this is more clear. I am tired and sometimes my writing doesn't come out right.

I see the apprehension dear; It`s not God who represents all people;their was only one pure man on earth ;Jesus Christ. Remember this though; the european community is rising with african and islamic followers; the bible predicted the revived roman empire. The roman empire had alot of slaves as did islam in the begining. If america is overtaken by foreign invaders;I gurantee you will be slave under their authority. I will be killed or imprisoned because of my christian doctrine. America ended slavery it didnt invent it. The middle east and eygypt were the first ones to have slaves back 6000 yrs ago. It has been going on since then up until the 1860`s in america. In darfur africa and other nations there slavery has been revived by africans not white people. According to the bible I believe america is in trouble because it`s confused about why it`s here and where it is going. I think we are going to be invaded because we`ve turned our laws against God and are rejecting Him. This nation was founded on freedom to worship JESUS CHRIST,now it`s being taken away. (the american slave trade began with islamic spaniards who influenced the english at that time)

in the first part you ask if we as a community are still behind. i think that certain extremists hold back the world greatly. but we also need different views on things to discover new things. if everyone was all the same or there were no conflicts, then it would be boring. we'd all think alike and nothing new would come about it. there will always be someone who would rebel against the system regardless.

Though I think you could have expressed your idea a bit better, I understand and agree completely! How can you say religious people - Christians/Jews in particular - are not ignorant? God's first admonishment in the Bible is whatever you do, don't eat the fruit of knowledge.
