I've heard that Proactiv works initially but then stops working after a matter of months. Is this true? Can I get some honest reviews on the product from people who have used or are using the product? Thanks.

i'm an esthetician and all of my peers always say it's too harsh on the skin and that there are better alternatives. a good esthetician can get you on a good program for your skin that will rival anything pro-active can do. Best to go to an esthetician that is endorsed by, or partenered with a dermatologist for the most advanced and agressive treatments. the bottom line on acne is the need for the skin to have a deeper exfoliation regularly than most people need. oily skin tends to hang onto dead skin cells which then trap dirt and oil in the pores. Glycolic skin care treatments are great and can be incorporated into daily skin care, but if you also have aging skin I would recommend Obagi. It leaves you with skin like a baby's bottom. If you are uncertain about pro-active, consult a professional and try one of the many other options! good luck!

Only use Proactive if you have the money to buy bottle after bottle. Yes Proactive works, but it is like $60 a bottle. There are better products than Proactive that cost way less like Neutrogena Acne Face washes that work very well. Proactive stops working like a few weeks after you stop using it.

I've been using Proactive on my skin for over a year now. Whenever I stop using it I usually have outbreaks. Dermatologists recommend that you continue to use it in order to prevent this from happening. So to answer your question, YES. You must continue to use it in order to maintain healthy, clear skin.

Also, Proactive takes at least 30 (consecutive) days to work. So if you're expecting a miracle overnight, Proactive is not for you. However, you will see big improvements within a week.

I used this product, and it worked for about 2 weeks, then stopped working. So, no, I didnt' like it. It is very harsh, drying, and didn't work for very long. I would say try something different. I have tried almost everything on the market, and I finally found something that works - of course, I tell everyone about Joesoef Skin Care for giving me beautiful skin. But, you have to find what works best for your skin. Can't hurt to try proactive.

You are right. It worked for me for about 3 months. It was awesome! Then, I started breaking out again and couldn't fix it. I had to switch to something else. I have been on this new skincare routine for 2 years now and it still works. Haven't had to try proactive since then.

It seems to me that most of the answers you have gotten have been positive. As with any product it will not work for everyone and some better than others.I would suggest you try it and see for yourself, there are several different packages you can get initialy to see if you'll like it, here is a link to a site that has good inexpensive pricing for those who wish to get started, take a look and go from the information you find. Good Luck.

I am guessing it works because I have seen proactive on TV for years and years and years. usually if something does not work then it's advertisement won't be on TV for very long. I've seen proactive sold at my mall. Lots of celebs endorse it too.. so ya, I guess it works. You have to really give it a chance to work. It won't really stop working, you have to be consistent and use it everyday the way it says you should.

Yes, it does stop working after awhile. Try Noxema face wash and clearasil max strength pads with aloe in them. It's working for me. Before applying the noxema to your face, put some dove bar soap on your face to tone down the stinging. If you do that once or twince a day, you'll have clearer skin in no time.

ok, i have an honest review! lol.
seriously tho...it really does work! i use it....the only time i saw that it wasn't working was when i stopped using it for a few months! i forgot to pay my bill and i didn't get it for a good three months (kept wondering why too) and after that my face got one or two blemishes...but that's really about it! i would suggest trying it first, if you don't like it they give you your money back. it really is not for everyone! but it does work, i have a gay friend that it worked wonders on as well!

I've tried it before, the toner is very harsh on the skin, parfum is listed as one of the main ingredients. The day moisturiser smells weird and white flakes form when I put in on. Overall, it didn't do anything for me, the toner even gave my skin rashes.

So even if you have slightly sensitive skin, don't use the toner.
