I like the way you phrased your question.
Yes Jesus gave his life for me. I am being conformed to the image of Jesus. The answer is "Yes the least I can do is lay down my life for others.
May the Lord richly bless you.

How about making the world a better place for all of us? We don't need to pay any price to do that, only act generously rather than out of fear.
Christianity's focus on the after-life means that injustices in this world are much more readily tolerated. That's why the Roman emperors made it the state religion.
Jesus was an activist in this life; the emphasis what might come after was added by Paul and co.

Recently there was a massive search effort for three climbers on Mt Hood. A lot of money was spent trying to find these climbers alive but unfortunately, it was not successful. Some have said the price was too high. I suggest asking the families of these people if it was.
You ask...should we pay the price of saving our friends and dear people? My friend..we can not...we could not even pay the price for ourselves. This is why Jesus came. He came to pay a debt HE did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay.
Yes it was a very high price..but one in which JESUS paid willingly for you and for me...and anyone else who will come to HIM to ask that their debt be paid.
Was it too high a price to pay? Ask those who have been redeemed by HIS blood....and I am sure we will all say Yes..it was but I am forever thankful that it was paid. We sure can not understand why GOD would love us..we simply accept that HE DOES!
Read the link below to see how this price can apply to YOU!

No price is too high to save one's life but if they do not want to be saved, even the effort is too much.

You can tell your friends about Jesus and His teachings, but only Jesus can save them.

By all means, if you're asking if Christians should all martyr themselves with a tricky mass suicide...
"FREEDOM OF RELIGION" says I.

At least, please ask your friends if they wish to be saved and if they agree that you should pay the price. And please accept it if they say thanks but no thanks. And if you believe you are jesus, please see a doctor.

If you're saying "Should we die for our friends so that their sins can be cleansed?" then no, it doesn't work like that.
