I love looking out the window at the earth below, seeing world from a different point of view, so prefer day-time for trips over land-masses, BUT for long trips over boring stretches of water, night is ok - and if your flying for that many hours, you might as well sleep anyway - it helps pass the hours.

For some reason I enjoy flying better during the day. I get so groggy when I fly at night. Flying during the day just seems easier and less stressful.

I love flying on a clear night and seeing the lights of a big city. Truly an amazing sight.

over ocean like when i go to hawaii it is nice to be at night. you sleep easier cause every one else is sleeping, and when you get there you can see the pretty lights. alos flying over land for a long period of time is better at night because when it is pitch blakc, you can go to sleep and your plane ride will seem to go faster, when you fly over the towns if you happen to be awake it is pretty seeing all the lights, and when landing/taking off. if oyu are going a short distance day is better cause you can see everything on the ground and since it is short you wouldnt sleep anyway

Depends on where you are going. San Fran-night time Idaho-night or day who cares its not that pretty. New York-night time. I guess it just depends on what you want to see. I like to see the city lights, but when you are flying somewhere where there is an overabundance of dirt, who cares day or night.

If it's an international flight, I'd like to end up at my destination at night time. That way I can sleep through the night once I've landed and not have my circadian rhythm so messed up.

Because I hate the sun in my face. Because airports are less crowded at night. Because the sky is less crowded at night (safer?). Because I can go to sleep and wake up at my destination thus not losing a day.
