How about writing a letter it's more romantic than email and text , you can include doodles and stuff and it's more old-fashioned and feels more personal. The guy also has something physical they can keep, and u can send them photos as well which they can hold on to, like pics of u together.
u can write him poetry if you're both in to that sort of thing (if not then beware it might scare him off lol). If u haven't seen him for a long time how about recording a video of yourself and everyone back home to make him feel more like he's with you? send that to him, it can mean a lot more than any gift you buy him.
or u could send him something personal like that. let him know you're thinking of him and you miss him. Guys can be like girls in that they just want to know someone cares about them.

heh, when was 'involved' with somebody on the internet he did something for me it was '101 reasons why Sophie is the greatest' and once he left me a poem in a message. Just little things can let people know really...
Thing is, I've learned my lesson from long distance relationships.
It didn't work for me. But best of luck! Just keep at it and let him know that he means something to you.

you can write to one another
you can email and text one another
make sure you can see one another as often as you can
(how far apart do each of you live?)
if you both have computers why not both invest in web cams?
then you can "see one another".
whatever you do i hope that it works - it can be difficult but all the best

u can show feelings in written words . u can express urself very good doing so but after this the need of seeing each other will incrase and words wont be anough !

i agree with "dipi" keep communicating with each often. just don't freak him/her out by calling way too much or during family dinner or in the wee hours of the morning.
