Why is it that when some new electronics are first brought out they are huge like the first cell phones that were as large as bricks and computers that filled up an entire room and then get smaller than anything like the new cell phones that are 3 inches tall and super thin and computers that are in laptop form.

It's like "Moore's Law" with Computers. More ability and Function in less Space, every few Months. The Integrated Circuit ( I. C. ) Chip has made this possible, as it continues to get smaller, and perform more Functions. Nano-Technology is the next Step. Electronics of a Microscopic Size !
