Is it true that Coke and Pepsi can cause addiction?
What exactly do they contain that causes addiction? I've met a lot of cases and everyone talks about how nocive they are.

Caffine is an addictive stimulant that is present in coke, pepsi, and several other sodas. This is what makes people addicted, and it is the same thing that makes people addicted to chocolate, tea, coffee, and some other stimulant foods.

Addiction does not come from soda, alcohol, nicotine, cocaine, or anything outside of us. It is a disease unlike any disease known to humankind. It is a physical, mental and spiritual disease that can be talked away.
If you use something for the first time and you like it so much that you choose to ingest it again and again, you are setting the stage for addiction to become active. With continued usage, a person at some point crosses the point of no return and becomes addicted. Using no longer becomes a choice, you just got to feed the addiction.
Like all the drugs I mentioned earlier, coffee, gambling, violence, and sex are other "drugs" that the disease of addiction feeds on. To say that you have a problem with caffeine, alcohol, or gambling is counterproductive. You need to look at them as symptoms of the disease because after a while anything that we use to get away from how we are feeling emotionally, physically, or spiritually is a means to feed the addiction.
I hope that made sense, it took me 44 years of living wrong and using "drugs" for 32 of those years to come to the realization that I am an addict and I could not deal with it alone.
