Army Reservist Killed By Police After Standoff.
Leonardtown, MD A man who authorities believe was an Army Reservist just called up to serve in Iraq has been fatally shot by police in a standoff that began on Christmas.
St. Mary's County Sheriff Tim Cameron says 28-year-old James Emerick Dean, in the military, was shot by a sheriff's deputy Tuesday afternoon. The sheriff says Dean had pointed a gun at a tactical team that was about to use gas to try to force him out of his father's house. The military man did not want to go back to Iraq. He served in Iraq in the year 2005.

The family told authorities that Dean was despondent about recent orders for him to go to Iraq. Dean had returned in 2005 from a year and a half long tour in Afghanistan.

More fabrications to a copyrighted article, by the habitual LIAR named erudite... all this to try and change the point of the article to erudite's warped little agenda..... your feeble attempts are pittiful, erudite... and I catch you every damn time....
Let us go to the additions and fabrications by this habitual liar....
"in the military" was never in the article
"The military man did not want to go back to Iraq. He served in Iraq in the year 2005." more farications and things taken out of context.....
Try using the actual statements, and not your fabrications for once..... and as always the REAL article is listed in my sources section

It wasn't the fact that he was a military man. Many law enforcement officers are also military. He pointed a gun at a tactical team. Police have guidelines when it comes to deadly physical force. Would you hesitate to protect yourself if a gun were pointed at you and you had a gun.?
It's not like television where you can shoot at their pinky finger and disarm them. This "military man" was pointing a firearm at police officers who were more than likely in uniform and surrounded by police cars with clear markings on them.
It's unfortunate that this man didn't want to return to Iraq and decided to take the matter in this direction.
The police were using gas (non-deadly force) to get him out of the residence, but he left them no choice but to protect themselves and any possible innocent people. Perhaps his father was in the home and was in danger. There's no time to think. Ask any cop or soldier. Sometimes a very tough decision must be made.
Remember: "Cops don't kill. Criminals temporarily suspend their right to live."
It's unfortunate he's dead, but he created a deadly condition. It's a bad situation all around.

I know a few men in the military have heard many stories like this, women that are being shipped to iraq will get pregnant to keep from going, people will cause bodily harm to themselves like have a buddy smash theyre knees with a hammer or run over their legs, they will do drugs like cocaine and meth to get kicked out. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Its very sad cause some of these men are doing back to back tours and i cant even imagine how stressful it is. I dont blame the police officers they were just doing theyre job, put yourself in the shoes of the officers, and then put your self in the shoes of the man getting shipped back to iraq, just a bad situation all around

He's a soldier. He knew what he was doing and what the outcome would be when he pointed the gun at the cops. I'm sure the police did everything they could to end the standoff peacefully, but his actions left them no other choice.

Sounds like a "suicide by cop" scenario. The guy didn't want to go back to Iraq, so he made the cops kill him. Incredibly unfortunate and very sad, especially around the holidays.

Because when he pointed the gun at police officers he became a threat to their lives. The police work on the workings that a threat to life is justifiable reason to use your weapon to defend yourself.

interior the U. S., the militia and law enforcement officials placed on bullet data vests. in actuality, thats why there are maximum of greater wounded infantrymen now than till now by using fact the armor works so nicely, it would not kill the soldier, it shields them from dying, yet a existence complete of discomfort and suffering.
