he's very shy when it comes to talking to me but he's not that shy when we're texting. in class, he's very talkative and loud.

Darlin', actions speak louder than words, so he'll eventually let you know he likes you, IF he does, by doing or saying something. Right now, he could be super-shy, listening to his friends on how 2 talk 2 a girl, or just in his head about you. Or not. Time will tell. Have patience :-)

He is probably just plain shy. He is probably intimidated by talking to you and most girls in person and doesn't want to look like a clown. Most guys have a thing when they are talking to females they attracted to, for us its like a test, do or die. I know alot of guys resolve this "test" by talking very little in person. If your a social gal then you will need to commit to all the ice breakers and such by talking about a subject that he can relate to (his car, sports he plays, etc). I would imagine from your question "still likes" you had previous relations and in this case he doesnt really know how to approach you.

Ok, If you really want to know try this:
It is called the looking in the eye test
When looking at something pleasurable like an extremely beautiful painting or are very cute face your pupil (The dark circle in the middle of the eye) will grow. Look at your friend directly in the eye and see how large his pupils are. If they are wide that means he has pleasure looking at you if they are small you are just another person to him

Nowhere is it written that you must be governed by the same shyness...... get to know him as a friend.

i think he still likes u, he just doesnt want anybody else to know.
that's why he is 1 person when he is only with u and another in class. Clear for me
