you probably need to go on something like prilosec every day. that solved my heartburn problem. you need to deal with this, since regular reflux allows the acid in your throat to eat away at your esophagus. When that happens, your body is constantly trying to repair the cells, and in that process you run a fairly high risk of developing cancer. Go see the Dr if you have good health insurance, as there is a generic prilosec out there now that is only $5 in some insurance plans. Otherwise, just try going on over the counter prilosec for a while and see if it helps. Also, elevate your head while sleeping, often just a brick under each leg of your headboard can make a difference. Eat your last meal or snack well before bed-time, at least a couple of hours. The coughing was due to aspiration, where your stomach acid/contents found its way into your airway, which reacts very strongly to the foreign substance and makes you cough for hours afterward. Good luck

heart burn is very annoying but common during pregnancy
try taking an antacid ( better check with your dr before taking any meds), avoid heavy meals , avoid fat( including cream cheese and fried foods) , spicy foods and anything with lemon or vinegar in it, chocolate and coffee. alcohol should be avoided as well althugh i'm pretty sure you're avoiding it because you're pregnant or for religious or other reasons.
try having several small meals during the day
some medications like prednisolone or antibiotics may make you feel this bad
i suggest you see a dr and check if you can take some medications to releive the symptoms but you have to change your diet, when a women is pregnant she is more prone to getting a heartburn .

Okay! This is common and happen for some pregnant especially as you said that you are in the 7th month of pregnancy. Don't worry. However, I have some question;
Did you visit your family physician?
He may request the nurse to withdraw blood sample in order to check any abnormality. like hemoglobin level, RBCs,
He will check your pulses ( heart rates).
He will check your Blood Pressure. Sometimes blood pressure increase a little bit during pregnancy especially in the last period. This is called "Eclampsia" which is somewhat normal to certain extend.
I hope you will be fine.

heart burns may occur due to the ever enlarging uterus pushing up the abdominal organs. that means your small intestine and colon get pushed up towards your stomach. If it keeps you up all night you might need to see a doctor. Don't try milk and any milk products (cheeses). It creates more gas. not good when you have heartburns.

If it wasn't for the fact that you are pregnant, I would suggest using "Pepcid Ac", as it works wonders for me. I am not sure if there are any risk, using that if you are pregnant. So if I were you I would consult a doctor or pharmacist. Good Luck. I hope this helps.
