I live in brisbane australia, QLD. My family and i recently moved to brisbane from cairns. I am always fighting with my father, he swears at me and has told me he will kick me out or i should move out! I am sick of his moods now and i am planning on moving back to cairns with my boyfrind and will be booking flights soon. My mum will be very upset but i think that this is for my best. How should i tell them that i am leaving, and is there any ways that they can stop me!! I am 16.

How would moving out on your own improve your social life? Even in the "tough" parts of town you would be hard pressed to find an apartment for less than $400 a month. Since you need to finish high school and work to afford life on your own, when will you have time to have this amazing social life you plan to achieve from moving out? You would need at least $800 a month for living expenses alone. That will require you to work a lot of hours at minimum wage, which is what they pay people your age who haven't even finished school.

my family moved to scotland when i was 16. since then, ive boarded at my friends home.

i am independant as i get youth allowance, and pay for my own things.

it's working out well, and I feel very secure, however, I miss my mum everyday, and think that i may not see her for a long time. and the next time i see her she may be an old woman, and I would regret the time i could have spent with her whilst she was still relatively young.
These times are invaluable, so think about whether you would miss your parents too much. If not and you love your boyfriend very much go for it.

Theres nothing they can do to stop you, your'e legally allowed to move out when youre 16

good luck

Are you sure you can move out legally where you are from.? You should make sure before you do so you will not get in trouble.

If you really think you can make it own your own and you are really not happy at home then by all means move out. Maybe it will be the best thing for you.

Just make sure that you and you alone can support yourself. You want to move in with your boyfriend but make sure you do not become dependent on him. That is never a good thing.

You need to make sure you can work and make your own money.

Good Luck

Unfortunately no. At 16 you can move outif things are tough. ISo long as you have abudget worked out and know how you are going to pay your bills. Are you at school? If so Ihope you decide to return to school so that you get a good education which will enable you to find employment, Just lay out a contract with your mum so she knows that you are being practical. Please feel freeto email me. I live in Australia if you need someone to talk to.

Is your boyfriend reliable? Dont take hasty decions dear. Think about your mom. If you want to live with your parents, do not come in your fathers way. try to avoid him, but think twice about leaving your house.
