I have the same problem. My twin sister and I are obsessed with straightening our wavy hair. One thing you can do besides using a straightener is blow drying it with a straightening brush. They're really fat and round bristle brushes. I think this is quite a bit more effective than just using a straightener. Also, before blow drying apply some straightening gel.

Certain salons will have what 's called " Magic Straght" or Straight Perm... It's a temp. hair straightening procedure and it lasts 6-8months. And it makes your hair beautiful !!! I have natural curls and my friend had recommended this about a year ago and I go back every 8 months for touch up....

I don't know where you live but it is best going to Korean or Japanese hair salon for this is well known and even Asians get this done to keep their hair sleek and shiny.

If not, Only FINE salons in NY will probably have this procedure.

I got mine done here... go to her website and see pics.

You could go to salon and have it chemicaly straightend, you would have to keep going back as your hair grew I would think. I use a flat iron on mine every once and awhile, I have the same problem as you. Using a flat iron is ok as long as you buy some good product for your hair to use while you are straigtening it to keep it from getting damaged.

Use a blow dryer and a paddle brush. Use a low setting on your blow drying and using the paddle brush pull your hair out flat. Then go down the length of your hair slowly. It takes practice though.
