In Ireland only the special forces can carry weapons... i was just wondering what the rules are everywhere else

There are restrictions in other countries as well as to what types of police officers can carry guns. japan has restrictions as well. In mexico only the criminals are allowed to have guns.

Practically all police forces througout the world carry guns, with the exception of about a handful of countries like England. etc.

In Japan, police are not allowed to carry guns. (Except for the swat team...)

i know in the USA they all have guns most of them have a pistol and a shotgun in the car a lot of civilians have guns to and a lot of civilians have permits to carry guns concealed in public

All cops here in the US of A carry guns and batons (which many of them often abuse their priviledges with...)
