My next dog will likely be a small mixed breed from the pound or shelter.

It all depends on which dog were to pass, if it were our big dog we would get a German short hair, a vishla, a whimsier, or possibly an English spaniel, if it were the smaller dog, a papillon, a mini Yorkie, maltose (can get one of them for free and love em), or a party cocker spaniel, currently leaning toward the party cocker, but that is in the distant future, we are not planning anything, just study up on breeds we like

I had a pure bread Dachshund for 10 years and she passed away in October. I would not get the same breed because she was too perfect . So we think we might consider a West Highland Terrier.
My sister in law has one and she is a great dog.

I currently own a Golden Retriever. He's really nice and friendly, but since you don't want any big dogs, I recommend a Maltese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltese_%28dog%29) or a terrier [those are nice] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrier) or you can check the list of dog breeds here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dog#Dog_breeds)

Good luck!

P.S. The pages are long, I seriously wouldn't want to read the whole thing :P

I would like another Boston, Pug and French Bulldog. Or maybe just a mutt that needs to be rescued.

I plan on staying with my Big dogs. Right now we have a Saint Bernard, and a medium sized Boxer . I love the big dogs and have owned 2 saint bernards prior to this one.

I already have a Yellow Labrador Retriever and if I ever decide having a second one it's going to be a Labrador again.
They are the most amazing, friendly, clever, loyal dogs ever!

ive always love large dogs, but with me living in an apartment soon im looking to get 2 small pappillons. and also use them for therapy dog work, as soon as i get a house i would love to get both a russian wolf hound (borzoi to those who dont know) and an irish wolf hound, a black russian terrier, a newfoundland (which i will be getting a year before i have kids, like i grew up with) and a royal poodle... i have always lived with dogs my whole life, at least one at any given point in my life, and i cant imagine ever living without at least one dog in my life.
