Hi there...a dry or wet nose isn't indicative a feline's health. Rather the only true way to tell if a cat is sick is by noticing a lack of appetite for food and water, if it is lethargic, acting unusual as some examples. But the most accurate way to determine if a cat has a fever is to take a cat's temperature rectally: http://www.petplace.com/cats/how-to-take-your-cat-s-temperature/page1.aspx

well, if my cat seems lethargic, I check the nose... if it is warmer than usual and dry, then I watch to see if he will eat. If his appetite is good, then chances are he's just feeling a bit "tired" or "off the weather" (like us sometimes on "bad" days). The signal that all may not be well with your cat is lack of appetite and sudden behavioral changes.

No, not at all. The only way to asses a cat's temperature is to take it (usually rectally). Feeling their nose or ears is generally useless. A cat's rectal temperature should be between 100 degrees and 102.5 degrees.
