You know i the digital would things are not always clear about how things work. A CRT has no real way to broadcast information it does not have a transmitter. Yeat with a digital TV or a LCD it might be possible to actually transmitte image and voice from the location of the house via cable. Whit out you even being aware of it. All it would take is a remote signel which any police officer could issue. Does this concern YOU?

its mobile phones that are of more concern,all tracked by goverments,and their microphones can be turned on remotely,then theres the numberplate cctvs etc

Not possible. A LCD tv works via polarization of a special crystalline structure. Digital cameras use CCDs which are basically photon counters. The two technologies are completely backwards to each other.

Well, it won't stop me from buying a plasma and / or LCD televisions. I will just have to remember to put on a good show for all of those onlookers! Is it a concern? Somewhat! Am I really worried about it at this time? Not really... I have nothing to hide, and I am certain that the government will get bored watching me watch ESPN!

Anything is possible. Although I don't understand what good is it to spend all the $$$$ to spy on the citizens of this country! Is the gov so afraid of the common people? Maybe a bad case of paranoia?

It all started with PCs. You hit "Print Screen" and a picture of you goes directly to Big Brother! That's why I watch TV in a dark room.
