This is true. They also get Medicaid. The women apply for it saying they have no husband. The husband works under the table (along with the wife) and all the money they make is sent to Mexico to save for a new house and we feed them and pay their medical bills while they are getting rich not having to pay much rent because 20 of them live in one house ($600 a month divided by 20=$30 a month each). I knew some who lived here 12 years and lived like dogs. They sent every dime they made home and lived off food stamps the whole time. They went back and sent pictures of their new digs which were comparable to our Governors mansions. The dollar exchange is about 10 to one so $1000 American money = about $10,000 in Mexican currency. They are getting rich off us.

Yes, they can qualify for food stamps. If they have children that are residents or U.S. citizens. For example, their children doesn't need to be born here but if that child is legal and doesn't receive adequate nutrition then the parents can just go to the offices and get the food stamps. They can get many things and this is what is angering many people.

Food stamps are a state by state provision, aren't they (not federal) so it should depend on the state law. But that really doesn't matter because it seems the state laws are held in check to a federal law which indicates discrimination based on (among other things) national origin is a no-no.
On the application for the state of Alabama (link below) it asks if you are a migrant or seasonal worker.... it does not say you cannot apply if you are one.

Not a misconception, its very real and very true. Its sad that the American government puts illegal aliens over people who are citizens.

I believe it is a misconception. You have to provide either a social security number or an alien registration number to apply for these services, and I believe they ask for the ssn of all family members.
Off the subject, don't you miss the actual food STAMP. I can remember as a child behind a woman in line who had to count out and tear out like 200.00 in food stamps. I remember feeling sorry for her. Isn't it sad how we are towards people sometimes, what we're taught about people. Now this lady may have been a saint, and the nicest person you'd ever care to know, probably jsut down on her luck or such. But even at a young age, I felt sorry for her, Like she wasn't good enough for money. It's terrible the preconceived notions we are taught, inadvertently, and retain into adulthood. I feel bad when I see a homeless person and I lock my car doors......I feel bad when a group of young men pull up beside me at a stop light and I get nervous, and race doesn't matter. I feel bad when a see a teenager wearing black and automatically think of school shootings......why do I think this way? I don't think I'm the only one, but It makes me sad that my thoughts, however unintentional, always lean to the negative in people.
I know that was a little off the subject, but sometimes our "misconceptions" about people are so off, we never really see them for who they are. Just followed that train of thought until it derailed....sorry :)

Not ONLY do they get food stamps, they also qualify for low income housing, WIC, AFDC, free school lunches, and many more taxpayer subsidized benefits!!! I KNOW for a fact, that they do, because i live in Arizona and have seen it all, first hand!!
All they have to do, is say they are "migrant workers", and they qualify under this program for all these benefits and more!!

In many states they don't check. I have read a post saying that that in Minnisota, for example, migrants are winked at. However, for those of us who limit our own children based on whether we can afford to take care of them, letting someone come here, have children at our expense, and giving the child food stamps and the family aid to families with dependant children is the same as giving it to the illegal. Do you think the illegal maintains a separate household or merges funds? And why should we have to pay for children of those who come illegally and stick us with those costs?
The problem is that the inflow is NOT resolved, so anything we do for them draws more. We can't afford it. Our own schools are failing for our own children and health care is becoming unaffordable.

Sad but true. I am in California, my daughter attends college with illegals and has friends who are receiving welfare, buying cars with the money from the state and their jobs at local department. stores, as well as receiving state medical and food stamps. They also receives grants and loans with their phony social security cards. The powers that be close their eyes to the phony cards and the illegals driving cars with stolen tags. They run across the border to see family whenever they chose. Going back and forth on spring summer, and holiday breaks. I am from back east newly located here. It is very shocking. It is a gross injustice to taxpaying legal citizens.

properly, I even have been asserting this appropriate to the commonplace public college gadget for an prolonged time.....They welcome unlawful pupils, because of the fact it aspects greater $$$$ to their faculties from the state.....greater $$$, larger faculties, greater govt. beef.....i hit upon it confusing, because of the fact each and each 12 months, my components taxes basically shop going up, whilst I see them construct those high priced, eloborate faculties....and that i do no longer blame the illegals, I blame the administrative. for permitting this....
