I have no idea how television networks work, and what equipment is used to drive the signal from the broadcasting point to the users. NOTE: this network will be in a small area. I'm interested in both wired and unwired options(cable or antennea). If you could point me to some websites where I could buy broadcasting equipment that'd be great as well.

I presume you're talking about distributing programming, not actually producing the programming.

Distribution of programming has different paths.

You could try the traditional path of building your own over-the-air TV station, but that requires transmission equipment, an FCC license for a low-power transmitter, and lots of capital.

You're probably better off trying to buy TV time on an existing station, esp one that specializes in brokering time similar to some commercial radio stations.

You could sell your show onto your local cable access stations, if you're talking one or two at a time.

Another path: internet streaming media. House your own server and website for people to find your programming. Post your stuff on YouTube.
