it really depends, the more you want to pay, the better the tattoo would be (it wouldnt look faded so quickly) and the less you want to pay, the crapper it would look.
and they cost you per an hour.

Tattoo artists usually charge by the hour, so the more complicated the design, the longer it will take at the more it will cost you. The artist that I go to charges $100 an hour (in NYC), but there is a pretty big range of prices that I've seen.
I don't think that design would take more than an hour to do, but the best thing to do is take it to the shop that you may want to have it done in and let the artists take a look. They will give you an idea of how much time it would take and what their prices are. Just remember that this is not something where you want to go to the one who may just quote the lowest price. Like anything else, in tattoos you get what you pay for and this is one thing that I certainly wouldn't want to scrimp on.

the average tattooist will charge 40 to $100 an hour colour generally is not a cost factor, Your design would take me longer to setup the gear than to do, its probablly ten mins of tattooing, since you will be paying for a full hour you might want to think of something more complex, as for the names of bands as tattoo's very bad idea. I also am in Aus.

Most Australian tattooists charge between $50 to $100 AU per hour, the cheapest I've had one done was $50 in Mandurah W.A.
took 1/2 hour for my own design, here in regional Vic. it's $80p/hr. The designs look okay, a bit like sigals.

I'm not in Australia but the simplest way to find out would be print the photo and take it to a few tattoo shops/artists and just ask them. Since it's one color and fairly simple it should not be terribly expensive at all. Going in to ask will also give you the opportunity to see some of your perspective tattoo artists' work... which will help you know whether you want that person working on you or not!
