Vets won't crop ears after the age of 13 weeks. When done before 13 weeks, it generally costs about $250.

If you crop ears at this age the ears most likely won't stand well... and no reputable vet should do it at this age. The cartilage in the ears have already grown too much and stiffened... so to speak. There are also blood vessels that have grown and connected within the ear. Don't worry about cropping for a "look". I'm trying to set aside my personal feelings against cropping anyway here, but consider this...

at this puppy's age, it would feel the same as if you cut off your own pinky fingers at the first knuckle and it would look about the same.

Too late... the bright side? YOU just saved a lot of money and time in the aftercare! Not to mention late date pain for the dog.

It should cost you no more than $300.00.But the ears are usually done around the age of three months. I thought you asked how much it would cost! NOT whether you should do it or not!!! That is your choice and if done properly, your dog will be fine. Not once did any of my dogs cry out in pain.I've NEVER had a problem with getting any of my dogs ears cropped. Like people with cosmetic surgery......individual preference!!!!

It has to be done at 12-14 weeks, otherwise the ears will not set right. I believe your too late. (I was too late by the time I got my pit also, which is why her ears are natural)

Please, please, please do not crop your dogs ears! The only reason one would want to crop his or her ears would be if you were planning on fighting the dog. There is NO medical reason for a dog to have cropped ears! Dogs forced into fighting have their ears cropped and tails docked so there are fewer places for the opposing dog to cause trauma.

Due to the question you are asking I am assuming that you are either one or both of the following:

an inexperienced bully breed owner that does not understand how to take care of such an animal

OR

horrible human being that does not understand the value of life and/or the companionship a pit bull can offer

With that said, if I find out that you have the intention of fighting this dog I will find you, crop your ears and send you into a cage match with another irresponsible dog owner.

Sorry for the hostility. I work with pit bull rescues and have a beautiful pit/boxer mix.

Way toooo much, do not do it. Their ears are so much of their personality, do not take them away.. I would recommend in most cases they have their tails docked at birth to avoid injury later in their lives, but never the ears. Their tails are so strong that when they wag them and hit things they can actually crack them open causing some bad sores. I think they should be docked as is done for Boxer pups. I have a Boxer and would never dock her ears. Pit Bulls are so much the same, my daughter has one, with the ears clipped and a long tail that gets cracked and sore. She did not have anything to do with the ear clipping and would gladly turn it around if she could. No need for it, so do not do it, please!

Leave his ears. Cropped ones look foolish. It is illegal in most of the civilized world. It dates from when that breed were bred to actually fight - so that other dogs wouldnt be able to grab thier ears as easy. Its an antiquated practice. And leaving his ears natural tells the world "this is a dog that was NOT bred for fighting, he's a good pet as well". The breed needs some image help - give them some.

Easy:

more than it's worth to the dog or you. Don't waste your money or your dog's time and flesh.

Please don't do it to the poor little dog!
That is very painful and if you love the dog you won't cause him that kind of pain and suffering.
