The best way to treat undiagnosed depression is to first get diagnosed. Just go and see your doctor and tell him/her what you are feeling. If that doesn't work then i suggest you see a different doctor.
I know what your going through because i myself suffer from depression and it took a long time before i got diagnosed.
Here are some of the things that helped me,
Excersize, that releases endorphins which makes you happy, and the adrenaline pumping through you also does the same.
Talking to a trusted friend, family member or other trusted person about what you are feeling, talking to someone takes alot of weight off your shoulders.
Crying, cry as much as you need to, trust me once you have a good cry it feels a whole lot better afterwards.
Don't smile just because others want you to, it can make you feel more depressed.
I hope these things help and hope you feel better soon.
Good Luck : )

Yourself is the best way to deal with it. Change your point of view on things, find things that make you happy even if it's just small things. I used to have a bad depression since I was about 12 or so (19 now), and I finally went to see a doctor about it when I was 17, I even took anti-depressants. They didn't really help much though because the main reason for my depression was just myself and the way I thought about things. But that's about all the advice I can give.

Honestly it does not sound like Bipolar. It sounds like depression and anxiety....... You need to make an appointment with a psychologist... Psychiatrists only deal with medications these days and a diagnosis takes much more than a 15 minute appointment. Go to a psychologist who can spend more time with you and give you a proper diagnosis. Then if he feels it is necessary he can send you to a psychiatrist for meds. I DO have Bipolar and I see my therapist once a month (I'm stable) and my psychiatrist once a month for meds....... People with Bipolar Disorder go through long periods pf deep depression followed by long periods of mania or elevated mood, long period meaning weeks or months or years..... This is what it is like to have Bipolar disorder: Depression - too tired to get out of bed, shower, even to brush my teeth. Cry all the time, sleep 16 hours a day. Feelings of self loathing and guilt that drive me to think of suicide but I'm to tired to even think about how to go about killing myself....... this can last from a couple of weeks to a couple of years. Mania - Way too happy! PARTY GIRL! love drink and drugs. Hypersexual - like I sleep with strangers and guys I just met on the internet or I masturbate 10 times a day. I once became bisexual because there were twice as many people to sleep with. Spending sprees..... I once spent my mortgage money on african violets, yep, $1500 on African violets (then I got depressed and let them all die). Quit my job because I wanted my vacation pay for lottery tickets and I was so convinced I would win that I started shopping and writing bad checks because I'd be rich as soon as the numbers were drawn. Only sleep 2 or maybe 3 hours a night for months on end and never feel tired. This can last for months.

You know what, most people only think they have depression (im not just talking about you). When the symptoms of depression are listed, many people can relate to them, but what separates those who have it from those who don't is the extent, or intensity, of those symptoms. We live in a world where a lot of people think something is wrong with them when really, it's just that they're overanalyzing themselves. Please, just enjoy life and do things that make you happy!! peace and love.

you know that is a very good question. cause if they are not diagnoseing you with depression then how do you deal with it. Well i would go to someone that should know about depression, cause depression is diagnosed daily. So if i was you i would go to someone that knew what they were doing, and then you will get the help that you need.

To keep urself going, keep doing those things that u have always done. Surround urself with friends and family. When u feel completely unmotivated, motivate urself to get out and do something. There is nothing that will help u do those things ( if u dont go to the doctor) than urself. If u let urself go, this dark hole that u feel ur sinking into will only get bigger. It will get to the point that u wont ever see urself climbing out of it. Depression is nothing to play with, if u r able to get out of it on ur own GREAT!! If not.. u have to see ur doctor and let him prescribe something for u. Dont let this get out of control, u can only help urself whatever way u choose to go.. doc or self help. Good luck!

Self-diagnosis in this type of situation is very dangerous. None of us here can help you. It's time to get a formal diagnosis, get on some meds if you need them, and get hooked up with a specialist who treats anxiety disorders (assuming you're asking for yourself, of course). Those are your first steps. Good luck to you on your journey back to good health.
