Delirium can set in with a very high fever. Check his temp, and if its over 101 then you need to be heading to the emergency room. I have a lot of experience in this area. I have my own and have raised more nieces and nephews then I care to think about.

This is one of those occassions where you dont mess around, call your doctors answering service and ask him if you should take the child to an emergency room. I'm not one of those "ask you doctor about everything people." I'm serious. This has the potential to get real serious on your end, real fast. Delerium is the first stage of altered brain function - the next ones control things like heart rate, breathing, etc.

I had something like this when I was a kid, although all I had was a flu or a bad cold..I had a really high temperature and I was delusional (according to my parents). But I actually do remember what I was seeing at the time, it was like red blotches and that's all I could see so I couldn't look at my parents. You should keep an eye on him and if it continues, take him to a doctor.

Ok, he/she either caught the clown cold, or he/she is just messing with your minds.
