I really liked it. It is so much healthier than beef. It can be a little dry if not cooked properly. It tastes a lot like beef. You should try it.

I think it's a totally different taste than beef, but it depends on how it's served- if it was in chili or something, you might not be able to tell. As a hamburger, I think it tastes stronger than beef. Beef is 'sweeter', while buffalo is more solid, like the taste difference between a steak and a beef hamburger. Hope this helps!

When I lived in Colorado, you can buy it in the hamburger version. At a butcher shop you can get steaks and such. It is most excellent in taste, but also very healthy choice for red meat. Much better than beef. Elk is also great.

Yes it is served in South Dakota as american bison meat-. It is a very good tasting meat that lacks the more bitter taste that beef has.
I have also had water buffalo meat that is served in south east asia - it is very strong and has a taste that is very unique -even stronger than cow liver.

I swear these people are fibbing. I had Buffalo and it wasn't that good. It was dry and gamey. It had a strong flavor that wasn't to pleasent. I will still eat it, because I swear off beef and its some what close to beef. The problem is that buffalo is more natural. The Buffalo were allowed to roam around and eat grass. That means lower fat content, tougher meat, and they develop flavor from the weeds they eat. Ironically I swore off beef, because cows are not allowed to do any of these things.

Buffalo meat is pretty good. I have had it on several occasions. It is very much like beef. The texture of the steaks is a little different from the texture of beef steaks. I would recommend if you haven't tried it to try it. I hope all those vegetarian's out there choke on their little salad while we are eating a steak.

I harvested a buffalo 3 years ago and it is some very good eating. Not quite as good as moose, but then I have tried a lot of different kinds of meat and mostly it depends on your attitude.
