I cant tell you for sure, but i strongly recommend that you avoid pills. They only give temporary relief and the side effects are numerous. In order to root out the depression, you must change your outlook on life. Be grateful that you have life. Other people fight to keep it. Read the book Albatross by Deborah Scaling and The Jungle by Yossi Ghinsberg. These books will make you realize how precious life is. This is step one. After you get over step 1, step 2 is trying to change the outlook and establishing a positive worldview. Maybe try a psychotherapist. Get one that doesnt try to be too much of an intellectual. Someone who you can relate to. Try to associate with new people, people who seem happy and comfortable with their lives. Set goals for yourself. Every person wants to achieve something in life. Figure out what your goals are and how you want to achieve them. This will give your life meaning and will erase the depression. Lastly, try to keep yourself busy all the time. Depressing thoughts are likely to occur during times of rest or boredom. Keep yourself busy and this will help you avoid any depressing thoughts. I really hope this helps and good luck!

well the only way i know to get rid of depression is knowing what is cosing is, and what you need to resolve that . So real the best was is go to a professional or a mental health person. Your depression may just be a normal depression and can be cruled a lot faster then other types of depression. But you would need to go and see a professional that works with depression. So go and see how bad it is and just maybe you can get over it sooner then you thought. Please if you do get on medication for it , do not just quit it. You could cause your depression to more then double. It needs to be taken down slowly to different levels of the medication.

You can't just simply get rid of depression, but there are ways to help control it.
Depression is caused by a lack of serotonin in the brain and thats why you may feel this way. But it can be caused by other things such as childhood traumas, death, bullying, abuse and several others.
Some ways to help is to do things that you enjoy, excersize, going out with friends, spending time with family and asking for help. Help is what you need so i think you should go to your local doctor and see if they can help.
Good Luck : )

Depression is caused by a lack of Seratonin in the brain. It is a chemical imbalance that can be treated with SRI drugs.
(Seratonin Re-uptake Inhibitors)
You need to see you physician ASAP as it will only get worse if left untreated.
There is no overnight cure. The drug program takes weeks to show any improvement. However, most people present a complete cure after about six months of drug therapy. Some, however, must stay on the SRI drugs for life.

Do the things you like most. Be with the people you like best. I know that it helps me. And think positive! And do more than one thing nice for somebody else. I feel that depression is self-pitty. Have you seen the commercials for a drug and then a month or two later you see an advertisement for a settlement for that same drug?

Ask your doctor about alternative treatments. I take St. Johns Wort along with my daily multi-vitamin. Worked wonders for me. And I don't take anti-depressants that the side-effects are worse than the depression.

Think happy thoughts. --- Seriously, you need to talk to your friends and family first. They are your first resource. If they are unable to rid you of your depression, then you need professional help. My wife has been suffering from depression for some time now. It has only been reciently that she asked (begged) for help. At that time, she went to a family councelor who specializes in depression. She is on meds for her depression, but even still she requires weekly counceling and lots of support (mainly from me). It is not easy dealing with a family member suffering from depression. Realize that your friends and family may need counceling too if they are to help you. My wife has likely been suffering from depression since I met her and I just did not know enough about it to realize it. I have known my wife for nearly 10 years. If you realize youhave depression, get help. It has the capability of destroying not only you, but also those closest to you. Because of my wife's depression, she cannot work. Because of this, we will not be able to pay our bills in 12-15 months. Get help. Get it now.

It is a million dollar question. If you really want to get out ofit, try to forget that youa re depressed.Try to work it out by your level best by working hard. You might need to share your problems with your friends and family toget ridof them. Don't avoid contact with other people (this is what I do--a very bad practice). TRy tobe yourself---may be you might want to have someprofessional counselling also.
