Lately I've been having thoughts of bringing a gun to school and shooting this one girl in the face and then shooting myself in the head. I've been wishing I could do that, too, but I don't because... well I would die. Is this normal? It's been scaring me a lot.

ok i am going to give you a straight answer. No this is not normal. We all want to hurt someone at some point in time but if these kind of thoughts are weighing you down then you really need to talk to someone before the thoughts become to much for you to handle. It is never a good idea to take a gun to school. or anywhere for that matter. And ending someone elses life would be the worse thing you could ever do. Then it would be worse to end your own. You have a lot of living to do. Im sure there are alot of things you want to do with your life. dont waste it because of some girl. No single person is worth taking your or another life over.you should find someone you trust and talk to them. It may sound dumb now, but you will find it a lot easier to deal with when you arent dealing with it alone.

It's ok to have those thoughts, everyone feels like that from time to time. But it is not ok to act upon them. Killing someone is probably the worse thing a human being could ever do, and then taking your own life...... thats something you need to talk about with a professional. You should talk to someone before these thoughts get to hard to control.
And wishing you could take someones life is even worse than just plain wanting to. And carrying a gun to school is not a good idea at all. Well Until you get some help, here are some things that might help you take you're mind away from those thoughts.
When you feel the thoughts coming on, you should do something you enjoy to distract yourself, or do some excersize, that releases endorphins which makes you happy and block out most negative thoughts.
Counting always helps, or adding numbers in your head gets your mind to focus on that rather than bad things.
Hope this helps.

It's not normal, but at least you are handling it well. You realize it's a problem and that realize that you need help dealing with it.

Thinking stuff like that may have to do with biochemical imbalances, and there are drugs out there that can help correct those, and people you can talk to about things.

Realistically, the best way to deal with this is to talk to your family. It's probably going to be awkward, and difficult, but if your family knows, then they can help support you and get you through this difficult time.

In any case, this isn't the end of the world. There are medications available, people to talk to. Lots of people have chemical imbalances -- depression, OCD, ADD. So, it isn't that abnormal, but you really really need support and help right now. There are trained professionals who have treated many people like you, and they will be able to help you way more than people on the Internet can. You just need your family's help to help connect you with those people.

If you are really worried you might actually do something like get a gun and kill someone --- you feel like you are barely in control -- you can always ask to be hospitalized and they will observe you and make sure you are safe.

I don't want to scare you by mentioning hospitalization. That's only something you would do if you wanted to and things felt really extreme and terrible -- and that's just an option you have. I'm not a professional, but I doubt you'd have to be hospitalized.

When you feel suicidal, you can always call up hotlines and just speak to someone.

I'm pretty sure you can always call 1-800-SUICIDE if you need to talk with someone.

You sound like a good person, and getting help is difficult, but it's the right thing to do -- for yourself and for other people. Just more than anything else, you need support from other people. You can't face this stuff alone and it's not your fault.

I'm so glad that you have the courage to bring this up and share it with someone. Just because you're having these thoughts doesn't mean that you have to act them out. It's important that you find someone that you trust and share these feelings with so that you can get the help you need. Go to a school counselor or a family member and tell them you're having an issue. Please don't keep these feelings to yourself where they can fester and grow. Just remember that how you feel right now won't necessarily be how you're going to feel a couple months down the road, so there's no need to act out on any bad feelings you may be having at this time. This is an issue, however, that needs professional help so please don't let this go. Having thoughts of harming yourself and/or others is nothing to take lightly. I wish you the best.

If this is ur shot at good humor.. its far from. This aint funny at all and if this is ur true thinking then u need to get some help. To think that way is an absolute cry out for help. Obviously, its not normal thinking and u need some counseling to get some help. Call the teen crisis line in ur area and talk to someone. Not only would u hurt the loved ones around u by taking ur own life, but think of the ppl that r family and friends to the person u wrote about. This would penetrate many lives, think clearly, think wisely.. call someone..

Are you on Drugs?
Killing is not answer to a question, no matter how serious the case is. That is how we are to restrain from small to fatal crimes, urges, desires.
Death is final, its once and thats it, to any human. And dying as a criminal is shameful dead.
Get some professional consulting.
