I do believe it sounds to me he wanted to dump you and just told you that. It sounds like he might not want a relationship with you and is chicken to confront you. Move on there are many fish in the sea.
I bet he never sent you flowers before and I bet he never called you once a day and told you how concerned he was for you all the time, nor how much he cared.
Find a real man not a boy trying to be man.
Peace and Luv

Well, either he was looking for an excuse to break up, or he really did overhear your conversation and misinterpret it. Talking to him is NOT gonna help, because he won't listen to you now. There are 2 things that you can do now.

Write him a letter, explaining the conversation to him (not that you should have to explain yourself to ANYBODY), and tell him what you were actually discussing. Tell him you are very sorry that his feelings were hurt blah blah blah. I personally think it rather sneaky of him to listen in on private conversations, and he really sounds rude! The other thing you can do is lose his number, and move on. Option 2 seems like the best option, but if you really love him and want him back, try the letter. They won't listen when we talk, but they are always curious enough to read letters. Good luck!

No respect! I would say your bf was just waiting for a reason to do this!! Sorry. You truly don't need no guy talking to you that way tho. I guess it's time you show him your better than that, and ignore the butthead. Maybe you better take some time out and think about what kind of guy's your dating! Good luck!!!

The main thing in LOVE is faithfulness and trust each other. So your bf has two basic errors. Firstly, listening to your conversation with your best friend from a hidden place and secondly he does not have faith on you. So I think he is not suitable for love affairs with anyone as he is skeptical minded. Avoid him, you will certainly get better boyfriend.

If he wasn't willing to get the facts straight then he's not worth the worry. He was looking for a way out or is much to immature to handle real problems that can occur in a relationship. You're truly better off.

First of all, how do you feel about him? If you care, then you may want to try and talk to him, explain it was a misunderstanding. It may have been an occasion where he wanted to surprise you and instead he mishead a conversation and it just crushed him. Ask around, ask his friends what happened, what is he doing now...etc.

on the other hand, if you don't care about this guy anymore, then eff him.

Read "He's just not that into you" It helped me with moving on when I decided to end a long term relationship with a man I was seeing.
