I have a Rat Terrier that is a nervous dog. When anyone starts talking to her she gets excited and starts smiling. (showing her teeth) Looks like she is snarling but she is nervous or excited. And my Pomeranian her bottom jaw shivers/chatters when she gets cold or thinks she may be in trouble. (nervous)

My greyhounds jaw occasionally chatters. At first I was worried then I noticed he usually did it when he was excited! I found out other greyhound owners noticed this chattering on thier own dog. So this seems fairly normal.
