Apologize and explain why you did what you did. Make sure it is sincere and from the heart. If you still feel you need to do something, let the issue sit for 24 hours and if you still feel bad, make that person dinner or do something special for them.

What was the mistake? Did you lie? Steal something from him? Have sex with someone else? First and for most apologize again and mean it. Then give him time to think. Maybe a few days. Sit down and write him a letter telling him why you did what you did and again ask for forgiveness. In your letter remind him of all the good times you two have and how much you enjoy being with him, explain how you never meant to hurt his feelings, pride, whatever .....ask how can you make it up to him, ask this in your letter. Mail it, get it to him some kind of way. Once you know he has it don't question him about it he will talk about it in his own time. Don't expect him to call you the same day you give him the letter whether you mail it or give it to him personally. He is hurt and just like us guys need time to get past the hurt. When he is ready to talk LISTEN to him don't argue with him and if he wants to argue with you about what you did you still LISTEN because remember if it wasn't for the wrong you did you would not be in the predicament.

It depends on what kind of mistake. Is a "misunderstanding" really a violation of trust? Did you go and sleep with someone?Sometimes there are mistakes that you cannot undo. Just saying "sorry" is not good enough, sometimes, like putting a band-aid on a stab wound to the heart. How bad did you hurt him? Was it intentional? All of that will determine if and when he forgives you. You may have to be more convincing, and let time heal the wound.

( this is presuming he is yr boy fr) If you see Indian movies. after the boy or girl is upset either of them go on singing untill the person upset gives up and also starts singing and there is a happy ending. (just joking) send him a card. or write on a poster 'very very sorry 'and stand in front of him. if he still does not listen then what? then wait for some time and the last thing is If you love someone set it free if it comes back its yours if it doest then it never was . 'good luck'

I need more details to give you a better answer but for now, just remember that actions speak louder than words, SHOW him how sorry you are, be extra thoughful in the coming days.

Regardless of the misunderstanding, an apology should be sufficient. You should never need to redeem yourself to someone who loves you and you love in return.

As long as you did not lie, cheat, or betray his trust in someway. He should forgive you.

All it might need is time.

Make sure he knows how deeply sorry you are. Recognize your mistake and reassure him that it won't happen again. All you can do is just be apologetic and wait for him to heal.

Depends on the mistake. Cheating? Lies? Stealing? who knows what another will forgive. Try to be his best friend..
