Atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God.
I don't think that you can prove or disaprove God's Existence, you just need to believe in Him, but to help you build a stronger faith in God here are some evidence that God is real and evolution is a Religion, and evolution has nothing to do with Science. Evolution has no scientific proof, but if you can get at least one scientific proof for evolution then you will be rewarded $250,000.00 - to collect your money go to www.drdino.com
Also, here is some cool stuff:
Evidence from Space that the earth is not very old.

- Here are some of the factors that limit the age of the universe to within the last few thousand years:
1. - The shrinking sun limits the earth-sun relationship to less than "billions of years". The sun is losing both mass and diameter. Changing the mass would upset the fine gravitational balance that keeps the earth at just the right distance for life to survive.
2. - The 1/2 inch layer of cosmic dust on the moon indicates the moon has not been accumulating dust for billions of years.
3. - The existence of short-period comets indicates the universe is less than billions of years old.
4. - Fossil meteorites are very rare in layers other than the top layers of the earth. This indicates that the layers were not exposed for millions of years as is currently being taught in school textbooks.
5. - The moon is receding a few inches each year. Billions of years ago the moon would have been so close that the tides would have been much higher, eroding the continents quickly.
6. - The moon contains considerable quantities of U-236 and Th-230, both short-lived isotopes that would have been long gone if the moon were billions of years old.
7. - The existence of great quantities of space dust, which by the Poyning-Robertson effect would have been vacuumed out of our solar system in a few thousand years, indicates the solar system is young.
8. - At the rate many star clusters are expanding, they could not have been traveling for billions of years.
9. - Saturn's rings are still unstable, indicating they are not billions of years old.
10. - Jupiter and Saturn are cooling off rather rapidly. They are losing heat twice as fast as they gain it from the sun. They cannot be billions of years old.
11. - Jupiter's moon, Io, is losing matter to Jupiter. It cannot be billions of years old.
12. - Jupiter's moon, Ganymede has a strong magnetic field.

Evidence from Earth that the earth is not very old.

- Here are some more of the factors that limit the age of the universe to within the last few thousand years:
1. - The decaying magnetic field limits earth's age to less than billions.
2. - The volume of lava on earth divided by its rate of efflux gives a number of only a few million years, not billions. It's possible that during the Flood, while the foundations of the deep were broken up, most of the earth's lava was deposited rapidly.
3. - Dividing the amount of various minerals in the ocean by their influx rate indicates only a few thousand years of accumulation.
4. - The amount of Helium 4 in the atmosphere, divided by the formation rate on earth, gives only 175,000 years. It is very possible that God created the earth with some helium which would reduce the age more.
5. - The erosion rate of the continents is such that they would erode to sea level in less than 14,000,000 years, destroying all old fossils.
6. - Topsoil formation rates indicate only a few thousand years of formation.
7. - Niagara Falls' erosion rate is 4-7 ft/year indicates an age of less than 8400 years. It is very possible that Noah's Flood could have eroded half of the seven and a half-mile-long Niagara River gorge in a few hours as the flood waters raced through the soft sediments.
8. - The rock-encasing oil deposits could not withstand the pressure for more than a few thousand years.
9. - The size of the Mississippi River delta, divided by the rate mud is being deposited, gives an age of less than 30,000 years. It is very possible that the Flood in Noah's day washed out 80% of the mud there in a few hours or days, so 4,400 years is a reasonable age for the delta.
10. - The slowing spin of the earth limits its age to less than billions of years.
11. - A relatively small amount of sediment is now on the ocean floor, indicating only a few thousand years of accumulation. This embarrassing fact is one of the reasons why the continental drift theory is vehemently defended by those who worship evolution.
12. - The largest stalactites and flowstone formations in the world could have easily formed in about 4,400 years.
13. - The Sahara desert is expanding. It is about 4,000 years old.
14. - The oceans are getting saltier. If they were billions of years old, they would be much saltier than they are now.
15. - Ice accumulation at the poles indicates less than 5,000 years.

Evidence from Biology that the earth is not very old.

- Here are some more of the factors that limit the age of the universe to within the last few thousand years:
1. - The current population of earth is about 6 billion souls, and it could easily be generated from eight people - that survived the Flood - in less than 4,000 years.
2. - The oldest living coral reef is less than 4,200 years old.
3. - The oldest living tree in the world is about 4,300 years old.

Evidence from History that the earth is not very old.

- Here are some more of the factors that limit the age of the universe to within the last few thousand years:
1. - The oldest known historical records are less than 6,000 years old.
2. - Many ancient cultures have stories of an original creation in the recent past and a worlwide Flood. Nearly 300 of these flood legends are now known.
3. - Biblical dates add up to about 6,000 years.

Atheism is the personal belief that there is no god, after years & lifetimes of searching we have come to the conclusion that god is a theory. As for proof, well you are asking to prove something impossible. It is just a personal view just like you can not possibly ever prove that god exists or any supernatual or spiritual being exists. You must do this research on your own & come to your own conclusion The evidense is all there just look around you. Do you know what yeast is? start there. Yeast has evolved and evolves everyday, but thats what happens when there are infinte yeast cells all over the earth at all times, kind of speeds up the process. you can even produce your very own strain of yeast if you wanted to from right out of the air, and think about it only a few hundred years ago people did not even understand were alcohol came from, most beleived it was the work of god. As far as evolution being a theory I will except that the day you guys admit god is a theory. Evolution is a fact and the only reason that the lie about it being a theory is spread by the church is just another BS witch hunt

Hope this helps:

An atheist is someone who does not believe in god or anything supernatural.

You can’t ask if we can prove if there is no god. If you say there is a god, then you are making the claim and the burden of proof is on you. Could you imagine if we all believed in everything until it was proven not to be true? Think of all the crazy things you would believe.

Evolution: now that you can demand proof for.

Actually, being an atheist does not automatically mean that you believe in evolution. I do. Most atheists do, but you don’t have to. Evolution is an entirely different issue.

1) Atheist - lack of belief in a god or gods.
2) To agnostic atheists... they simply lack the belief in a god. Gnostic atheists lack the belief and declare there is no god.
3) God can't be proven or disproved. But the probability of a god existing is vanishingly low.
4) Evolution is a fact AND a theory. The fact is that it has happened and still is. The theory is how and why. Look it up. There are a lot of books about it. Richard Dawkins has about ten on the subject. Evolution is as factual as gravity.
5) Some atheists believe in Evolution, some don't. EVERYONE believes in something.

I, who just happens to be an atheist, believe in human dignity, family and logic.

An atheist simply does not believe in the supernatural. I'm no atheist, but I do not believe in the Abrahamic death cults of Judaism, Christianity or Islams version of god. I also believe that evolution has proofs in some ways. Who is to say that the Great Spirit/The All/The Source/The Creator did not use evolution as a means of creation? Look outside the box you will find a truth that resonates with your soul. Nothing is all or nothing.

Hi, I hope you get to read this:

Modern religions were designed to be impossible to prove or disprove - they tell us a story about a guy that's invisible, inaudible, impossible to detect in any way... how convenient.

There is no need to "believe" in evolution - it's factual. Just like gravity, it is one of the forces that shape our world. Everybody understands this - except religious fanatics. Which is just one of the many horrible effects of religion - making people oppose science. So it's not that atheists have to believe in evolution - it's just that it's the only scientific explanation. Nobody's come up with any other scientific theory; some people just imagine that it was done by this powerful wizard (god) - but of course that is make believe. Most of the time it's because they don't understand science or are scared of it.

Here's a good site to start learning about evolution:
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/

Here are some lies religious people keep telling about science, and the explanations behind them:

I hope you're smart enough to figure it out. Good luck! And remember, when you have science questions, listen to the people who spend their lives studying science, not people who pretend science is evil!

I am a Secular Humanist, and I can only speak for myself.

I do not believe that God exists. I cannot tell you whether or not there really is a God, because, like you, I don't know for sure. I have no proof either way.

I worship nothing, and focus my attention on being the best human being I can be. Evolution has been proven, it is not a theory, just as the world being round is no longer a theory. I respect science and knowledge, and I appreciate humanity and the beauty of this world. I believe in reality, in actuality, in eventuality, in probability, in likelihood, in possibility. I believe in family, in friends, in love, in many, many things. I don't lie, or steal, or kill, and that's because I don't want to do that to another human being...I do not need God or the Bible to tell me not to do it. My world view is simple. No religion. Secular. No deities. Humans.

There is no proof of evolution, just a theroy and so I guess for Athiests and some others who don't believe in God - don't believe in Thee because they can't see or touch God so therefore he doesn't exist to them. Since we today haven't lived centuries in the past we could say that many stories of history and of the bible is made up. I believe that some stories are made up by man, but not all them. Your belief has to come from within. It's about being connected with your inner self. I personally believe in God because of personal experiences. I think some people live by facts written down in books by man and what they see with their eyes whereas others go by thier inner spirit and how they feel. I can feel that God is all around us. An example would be a person who is able to feel someone's Aura. Have you met someone who gave you a really bad vibe and then later you find out that your feelings were correct in sensing that something that was not right with them? If this comes easy to you then good for you, but not everyone has this gift.

For anyone who doesn't believe in God, if you seek him, he'll find you.

Atheist don't believe in supernatural or religious ideas, they're more along the lines of realists. personally I use "facts" in science to reaffirm my faith in GOD. look at what had to go scientifically right for the world to exist the chances of one little piece of the puzzle going wrong are so much greater than everything going just right. now look at what has to go just perfect for a person to come into the world that, by overwhelming odds shouldn't even be here, and you have something like 1 in 300,000,000,000,000 chance of existing. the same science that says there should be life on other planets also says we shouldn't even be here. LET ALONE CONSCIENCE AND THE QUESTION OF OUR SOUL HOW COULD THIS COME FROM SPACE DUST?

I believe in evolution... But I also believe in god. And god is there when YOU want to let him in. The only one that can answer your question is you, since faith is very personal.

No, i cannot prove there is no god.
And i cannot prove there is a god.
Nobody can, nobody has seen him.

However, i dont beleive him.
Basing my life around some book writtin my abunch of dudes who could have been schitzophrenic isnt that appealing to me.

and there is more evidence we are created by evolution.
