I've never known a Christian who does not condemn other religions without a 2nd thought. Then when you question their religion they become either sarcastic, condescending or defensive. No offence to the exceptions but it is just my personal experience.

Christian should never be upset or dismayed about non belief. Even Jesus taught his followers how to handle non belief.

You can question all you want about Christianity: It is documented in the Christian bible. The bible is not a conversion manual but a tool for the believer.

Courses in comparative religions explains the differences and similarity between religions. It you want to see what one belief system offers as compared to another, this is where you should look.

But comparative religions do not take into account belief. For example, Christians believe that the bible is the word of God as spoken through the prophets. They do not believe the Muhammad is one of those prophets.

What you believe is yours. Now the question is where does Christianity fit into that belief. Do you have enough information to answer that question. The job of the Christian is to teach all nations, not to convert everyone. As long as you have the information, then the Christian job is done.

I am a Christian and I don't get upset when question or renounce my faith. As long as you understand it, it is no longer in my hands.

You probably think ALL islamic people walk around with a bomb attached to their chest and go down the streets shouting Jihad!!!
I'm sorry to tell you this, but you are GENERALIZING. You will find many Christians are just ordinary people trying to live a life... And (oh, surprise!), you might even learn along the line that the majority of muslims are actually peaceful and friendly.
I don't criticize other people or their faith. I leave that to the fanatical idiots who believe they're better than everyone else. But I won't go down that path. I agree with you when you say many christians get upset but have a good laugh when it comes to other faiths... Just don't generalize. I NEVER use other people's beliefs to bring them down or bash them. My BF (fiancee) is a Turk and a Muslim, to that. So there you go...

I yet have to be questioned about my faith, but I sure wouldn't get upset if someone asked me. I have been through a lot in my life, dealing with dysfunctional family, addictions, etc etc, I have been alive 30 years and this is the ONLY time in my life I have been at peace with myself in my life. I am doing my best to use what I have, which is only experience and faith. I wouldn't talk to anyone about my faith unless they were genuinelly interested. Not all christians are screaming their faith, no I believe the ones with the sense are living the life instead of preaching it.

This is actually a very good question. Religion is something taken very personally... and I think your question applies to everything else. I'm not trying to be sac-religious or anything, but here's a good way of explaining it... okay, imagine religion comes in the form of a hairstyle. So the Jews have long hair and the Catholics have short hair and the Buddhas have layered hair ect. ect. (seriously, I don't mean to offend anyone... this is the best way I can explain it!!) So you're talking to a Jew, who has long hair, and you tell the Jew what an ugly hairstyle that Catholic has, and the Jew might laugh. But if you tell him HE has ugly hair it will hurt his feelings. Religion is very very personal, and since it is almost impossible to not think of yourself AT ALL, people will take it personally.

I don't get upset when my faith is questioned. I respect people's right to believe or disbelieve what they choose. I do get upset when I am called stupid, ignorant, brainwashed, intolerant, among other things. I think intelligent exchange of ideas and beliefs is usually lacking in the religion/spirituality section, and neither Atheists nor people of faith are blameless in that.

I have no problem with those who question my faith.

In fact, I pray for them every time I see someone criticize God or Christianity. It makes my heart sad to see that so many people are lost and refuse to be found. And I don't question everyone else's religion; I disprove it.

I don't care if you think or believe differently than I do. People are allowed to have their own opinions, regardless of how right or wrong they may be.

Well most of the times its because they can't prove their faith. Its one of those things that some can't really prove easily. I'm a Christian and it doesn't bother me if you question my faith. I would gladly talk to someone about it and show them everything about my faith I know. Some Christians just don't know the Bible the way they should, not saying I know it perfectly but I'm saying we don't know it as much as we should so we can't respond. And any human when questioned and they don't know the answer usually gets a little defensive.

Theres a difference between asking a question and being flat out mean. Look at all the questions the Atheists here are asking. Quite repulsive.

I think you are living under the false pretense that christians can't handle others who do not beleive as christians do. I don't mind at all and in fact, I enjoy the open exchange of ideas. Your painting with too broad a brush.
