Frederick Lord Leighton??? See link below. There was one other I was thinking of but I wasn't able to find it. This image was by one of the masters of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood from the late 1800s who brought beauty, simplicity and romance - influenced by the painter Raphael and the paintings of the early Renaissance.

I'm plus-sized myself. I do not think there is one simple answer for this question, because each woman has a different shape, even when very similar in height and weight. Different styles emphasize and/or smooth out different aspects of a woman's figure. I would not be surprised that there are long dresses that would suit some short, plus sized women very well indeed. If you have found a dress that you love, and it is long, then that's wonderful. Unless, of course, you really *wanted* a short dress. Good luck finding the best dress for you.

Contact and Art museum. Might especially contact The Museum of Modern Art in N.Y.C., the Smithsonian Museum, and describe the painting. Where did you see the painting? Maybe you can contact the place you saw it and they could tell you the title.
