i ask it all the time to people ( but then again i pierce ears and you have to be at least 18 if mom or dad isnt with you)

I guess that all depends on your age. I'm guessing early teens.....
Age isn't really a barrier but when in your teens you should stick with ppl close to your own age. Maybe these girls are just checking that they aren't chasing guys too old/young.
