It was dropped on the pavement and now it doesn't always focus. My grandsons 18th birthday pictures were mostly blurry. The whole picture is blurry so it is not focusing on something close up. It is a HP photosmart 812.

I would definitely not get it fixed (unless you want to save the environment) because it costs to much. I would just by a new one from your local Costco or http://www.costco.com/Common/Category.aspx?cat=83&eCat=BC|79|83&whse=BC&topnav= becuase they are cheap and if they break costco would always let you take it back. I dropped my ipod 1 too many times and it didn't work anymore. Costco took it back-no problems. And I didn't have to make up a story about why it broke either. I buy all my electronics from costco because they always take them back. The only thing costco doesn't take back is computers. Unfortuneately they dont sell hp's however they sell many camera's such as canon, nikon, panasonic, sony, kodak, and casio that are cheaper than everywhere else on sale. I prefer a sony or canon (i have used both) because they take really good pictures, and hardly ever break.

Hope that helped!!!

Like most electronic gadgets today, repairing it is usually not worth it. I'd suggest junking the old one and buying a replacement. I don't like that we're a "disposable society", but that's just the way it is. Good luck.
