There is a strong overbearing dog dropping, urination smell from the home next door, I have asked the neighbors to do something about it and they laugh. They assume pets have to smell? And how would someone clean that smell? (Yard)

i'd call your local animal control or city ordinance. not only is it nasty for the neighbors but it's unhealthy for other dogs nearby and humans.

You talked to the neighbor with the stinky yard but nothing was done. Have you spoken to the neighbor who lives on the other side of the stinky neighbor? If not go talk with them because they might be offended by the smell also and want something done too. The more people who you can get to verify there is a problem the better your chances are of getting it resolved. You might end up having to complain to the Animal Welfare department or even the City Code departments. Good luck.

You didn't specify how many animals are living at the house, but I offer 4 sources of resolution:

First, I would call the local animal shelter since the animals are being forced live in their own waste, which animal endangerment. They'll also take the animals away if the neighbors don't have proof of rabies shots or a current license.

Secondly, I would call the city and see if the neighbors are breaking any local zoning codes by exceeding the limit as to how many animals can live in a house. They might be exceeding that limit, and you'd be surprised to find out how few animals are actually allowed.

Thirdly, I would call the County Health Department to see if they are violating any health and safety codes.

Lastly, fight smell with smell! Here's how:

Place a gallon of bleach (or straight ammonia) in a large washtub on the very edge of your property and put a big box fan pointed towards their house and let it run day and night until they clean it up. Bleach is a lot more repugnant than urine or poo-poo, but Ammonia works faster and it also tends to evaporate too quickly...

Good Luck!

When you have a dog (s) you have to scoop the poop EVERY day to maintain the yard.
If they laughed at you, they gave you no choice. First I would call the city, township, whatever governs the place where you live. They will point you in the right direction. They should be aware of what the law is pertaining to your problem. Do whatever you have to because it is a sanitary issue too. If you can smell it, the situation is way out of hand............You might end talking to an attorney and he can write them a letter. You can contract diseases from animal feces and urine.

I would skip the dog warden and give a call to city hall and ask to speak with the Safety Service Director. Start there and the poop will roll down hill :o) What will happen is they will sen a letter to your neighbor telling them they have a certain ammount of time to clean it, or the city will do it and charge 500.00 (fine) or what ever the fine is where you live. It is usually HIGH!

Call the local animal shelter and turn them in, or call the environmental health department, you might even want to talk to your city or township clerks office about it, it could be an ordinance violation but for sure is a health hazard and they will be made to clean it up if not fined

I know that here where I live there are several steps to take . first you have to talk to the neighbor or leave a note on the outside of their mail box. second call animal control and they will take it from there only I can tell you from personal expierience they will probably give you some kind of retaliation from this. third if it keeps up then you will have to keep calling animal control . fourth you will and can take them to court for creating a public nusiance and a public health hazzard. I know where I live you can have as many dogs or cats as you want as long as they are being taken care of properly . good luck to you and god bless .

Contact your local health department and ask if anything can be done thru them. If not, ask them to refer you to someone who can do something about it.
