I am an atheist seriously considering a belief in God. Can you show me that the God of the Bible is that Higher Power?

All I have in my testimony. What Jesus saved me from. A 1 yr break down. He delivered me from tobacco addiction. He has healed me at times.
The God of the Holy Bible is the Highest Power. There are many higher powers. God showed that He was The Highest Power over the Egyptian gods, when God delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage.

Well, if you consider that the only two reasons for the earth's existance is either creationalism (That earth was created by some intelligent creator, like God) or evolution, then consider this.
1) Where has macroevolution ever been observed? If an animal’s leg evolved into a wing, wouldn't it become a bad leg before it became a good wing? What about the arm, and the face, and the digestive track?
2) If macroevolution happened, where are the billions of transitional fossils? There's not just a "missing link" There a ten-mile long chain of missing link from only one stage to the next. Don’t say they aren’t yet to be discovered, that was said years ago and still nothing.
3) How could the first living cell begin? If the condition of the earth once provided a 1 over 1*10^13 chance that a cell could form(a number so high because they are discovered to be more complex than early computers), then even against the odds, why are there still stages before us humans, when cells only had the slight change to form way back when.
4) Which came first: DNA, or the proteins needed by DNA, which can only be produced by DNA?
5) The most scientific dating outbreaks and techniques state that the earth and the universe are young. One of which is that the sun is proven to shrink 5 feet every hour. If the earth is billions of years old, than the sun would have been large enough to engulf the first planet, and fry the earth like into a fireball. (This make-belief time period is the same that the earth is thought to have had its ice age.) Carbon dating had been found very inaccurate.
Also, don't get macroevolution (From monkey to human) confused with the proven theory, microevolution (From Dog to golden retriever, and to German Shepard, and the terrier, etc.) This actually links to the story of Noah. People argue that he couldn’t fit all the animals in his arc. Consider that this was probably before microevolution, and the big animals could’ve been babies.

That's just a little snipet of Walt Brown's book, and you can read more at the website i just provided. Christianity will never be proven, but the science and discovery all focuses on it now-a-days.
The bible is different from other "religous" books because it didn't origionate from one source. Is has been written all over the middle east territory, and each manuscript found had different authors but the same God. With this is mind, a reasonable visual for the chances that the bible is geographically untrue, would be randomly selecting a needle out of a hay stack 2 feet high, and as large as the statew of Texas.
Searches have been made. 2 Explorers found almost all the landmarks and items mentioned in the story moses who lead the isrealites to the promise land. They found the red sea crossing point, the 2 pillars, the bitter springs, their list goes on. Even not on this list, the split rock of Horeb was discovered. In the bible, this rock was said to spring out water for millions of people to drink, thanks to the power of God. The rock was jagged on top, and smooth near the bottom. This must've been because all the gallons of water smoothened it out. There was even a big swelling in the ground, pirfect to hold all the drinking water.
Take a look at the universe. you know how cold and hot the mood gets? The conditions are impossible to live in, not just because there's no air. If the earth was a hair to close or far from the sun, then life would end. If the earth was off it's axis, life would end. If the sun was hotter or colder, either by the size or intensity, then life would end. Add all those chances to our theory of the first living cell.

I am a Christian and I know my "job" is to Jesus Christ with you in my opinion trying to force religion down people's throat is not for me everyone is going to have their own ideas on God and so on all I know is that in my heart he is there. I was addicted to speed I didn't smoke it or snort it but I slammed it( shot it up) I lived in a squat with about ten other people cut myself with knifes and lost what Brian cells I had left I also lost my daughter and to tell you the truth I hated myself way before the drugs but I always had a feeling there was something more, something better ! when my husband the the flayer to a place called full circle on the the to a sober living home I was really surprised since it the sober living home was in norco and we were in Pomona that he just found this paper undamaged on the floor, we went into the home, now two years clean off of drugs with custody of our daughter a home and a car I know there is a God but the thing I love best is the way I feel inside a feeling that only you can know but a feeling so great no words can describe it. hey don't be scared to seem like a fool ask God to give you a sign, I can not convince to you that he is real only He can do that, and he will when your heart is ready and you are willing to find out. but for now I wish you the best of luck on whatever path you take.

First, I would suggest reading the Bible. A good starting place is the book of John in the New Testament. This will introduce you to Jesus--not the guy you've heard about all your life, but the real thing! Then, another great book is "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Strobel was an aethiest who set out to either prove or disprove Christianity. By looking at all of the evidence for Jesus (his life, claims, death and resurrection), he found more than enough reason to put his faith in God. I sincerely hope you give this all of your attention until you find an answer. God bless!

If you are seriously considering converting/joining a specific religious institution, then I think it is best to go to a priest/pastor/rabbi of the specific faith you are considering becoming a part of and talking about what they truly believe and discuss your concerns about joining. That way you SHOULD have a source that is knowledgable, so that you have a solid ground to base your decision on.
If you do not really have a specific religion in mind, then perhaps you should research a little about the various beliefs out there and then talk to someone when you have a better idea of the type of faith you are looking for.

Life is too complex to be explained by science. Evolution claims that we evolved from Monkeys yet there is "NO" evidence to prove that. To evolve from Monkeys would mean that Man went through different Hominid stages (part man/part monkey). Evolutionists try and pass this off as fact yet not a single shred of evidence has been discovered to prove it. Everytime they think they find a part man/ part monkey bone it ends up being either full monkey or full man.
As a matter of fact, Evolution is a bigger miracle than the presence of God.
Life does not spring up from non-life. Simple organisms do not evolve into complex organisms. Yet Evolutionists want you to overlook those facts and still believe Evolution.

I will start with your dreams......
There is something within you that was placed there for purpose.... without it, you are nothing but an empty shell.....
As it was from the beginning, when the first man was created, you are no different in structure as was he when he was made from the dust of the ground......
He was but only the shape of a man.... having no intellect, no ability to get up from the ground......
But....
When, God breathed into him that breath of life.... he Be ---- came.... something.... He actually moved.. motivated, thought, had a conscious... could reason... could control his direction....
But, when he is done telling his "story"...... His "book" will be closed.... and his thoughts will perish..... His body will return to the state it was in before he "be" came...... He will be an empty shell again......
And so it is... with dreams... that a man will dream of being inside a house.... He will say, "I dreamt that I was "in" this house"..... That house, is what it always was.... It is himself... He is that breath of life which motivates the body...... The body is the structure which God created......
Now.....
It is written, that we are "temples".... And what exactly is a temple, anyway?...... It is a structure devoted to a spiritual use..... And so we are..... What is inside of us is spiritual in nature... and so we see the impossible.. are able to report of places we have been and yet have gone nowhere...... That "structure", is the house that God created...... The body will die, but the spirit is eternal... and so it is constantly in motion.. constantly thinking... even when calm, the mind continues to reason....... within that "temple" that God built for the consciousness of a creature he called man.... Only this man would be called by your name....
Funny thing, is He knows what you're doing..... You may not know it because He made it so that it was absolutely, beyond a shadow of doubt, impossible not to "report in"...... and so we sleep..... You must "report" to that place every night..... That place is called The Kingdom of God..... but we call it "going to sleep"....... Simply because we take it for granted...... But, do not be deceived, it is very real..... People have literally awakened crying, shaking, and walking along roads while in that place......
As with death... it is with sleep..... We cannot stay awake in this place indefinitely.... The body demands that we return.... *** a little something that our Father set up.... so that we have to tell what we're doing... .We go there!!!......
I hope not to convince you...... But, to show you what has convinced me that I know what I'm talking about......
In order to prove what I have stated, I would only ask for a dream.... Any length.... any time.... from you or anyone you know.... I will tell you I am no psychic.... but, from the story of life..... and life is a "story"..... dreams are His-story.... God's story of life as He has created it... Only it is told in our words about what we are doing with our allotted time....... I can take your dream, and tell you what you are telling Him about what you are doing..... and I guarantee you today, that you will understand what I mean when I say, there is Truely a God......

the only higher power is the application of higher thought developed by scholars and men of intellect who have found a path of virtue . if you gleen this from tainted believers you have great powers of discernment and are developing your mind in truly honest ways . God or not the truth is for free thinking people to determine for a better life not a better death .I've been both believer and now atheist and the truth is what should prevail not the leaders of death and deceit.

No I can not... I am of The True Christian Faith and it is not posable for me to do that... nor can any other mortal alive... I can Witness and I can testify... that is it... The "proof" you seek is between God and you.... I can answer some basic questions concerning The True Christian Faith... I can tell you that I know absolutly and with out any doubt for a fact that God is real... I can give you the Salvation message... I can tell you the truth I know and no more...But no mortal alive can answer for God to you.
