I personally have had these, and I know how much they suck. First of all, I would suggest sitting down, or laying, however you are most comfy, and taking some very deep breaths. Another thing I used to do was get in a hot tub of water and relax--may sound weird, but it worked. Talk to someone, like a friend or relative, about anything just to get your mind off of the fact that you're having an anxiety attack--also works. If worse comes to worse, and you start noticing that they are very frequent or that you notice other health related symptoms as a result of your anxiety attacks (such as heart palpitations, migraines, etc), then see a doctor--just general MD for basic evaluation, Psych if necessary thereafter. Sometimes you can not help having anxiety attacks and medicine will most likely help.

Hello!
I get anxiety & panic attacks, so I know how you are feeling. I don't get as many panic attacks as I used to. What it takes to overcome them is a combinations of things. I'm on med's for it, I couldn't function without them. Anti-anxiety med's are helpful, they calm you enough so that you can do the other things, such as doing relaxing things...listen to music, soak in a warm bath, use aromatherapy. Excercise...it really takes the edge off the anxiety. Even a simple walk works. Do breathing excersizing. Just put "relaxation breathing" in your search engine and you will find many sites that show you how to do that. Get enough sleep. Being over tired, sleep deprived, aggravates one's anxiety level. Eliminate all the things that cause you to get anxious. To deal with this means change. Have a good and positive outlook on life.
I hope some of this helped!
I wish you the best! :)

I don't know if it'd work for you or not, but they put me on Xanax. Seems to control the attacks fairly well. Some people don't like to battle such ailments with drugs because of the possibility that one may become addicted to or reliant on them. There are other ways to fight anxiety attacks, but I went the drug route from the very beginning. You, on the other hand, may want to look into some of the alternative methods of fighting your problem. Whatever you decide, good luck.

Midwest center for Stress & Anxiety has a program that really does work. But you should still talk to someone. You may need meds and a cognitive therapy program to enhance your over all awareness of your thinking habits and to slowly change your automatic thinking patterns that lead to anxiety, panic attacks. Negative thinking and low self esteem usually go hand and hand with these conditions but can be change over time I speak from experience. Lucinda Bassett has commericials on the radio advertising her program. Get the program and believe in it it will change your life.

I used to have panic attacks until I went to a psychiatrist. He put me on medication for panic attacks. I do not have them anymore. It can be caused from a chemical imbalance. You may want to think about seeking a psychiatrist to help with your anxiety attacks.

To Prevent or Overcome the Anxiety you need to start eating more of fresh organic fruits and vegetables to help your body, and you need to ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and fill you with Peace, only then you will be able to calm yourself down.

I have them too- try not to think about having them so much, exercise, change your diet, and try relaxation techniques like breathing deeply and slowly.
