with the war. I disagree with the war too, but the soldiers asked for Star bucks and were refused! I was just curious because I had not seen any questions on here about it. don't like Starbucks coffee but I still would boycott the place if I did. This was on MSNBC and the Don Imus show and he said he was going to stop going there. Other articles on the Internet say this is all fiction. I just think that MSNBC and that show would not lie about it. I think they would have gotten their facts straight, don't you. I believe this to be true. Sorry if I am wrong, but it was on TV.

This story is not true. Here is the real deal.
-------------
Starbucks says that the originator of the email, Sgt. Howard Wright, and talked with him about his complaint.
He has now sent a follow-up email to his email list, which appears below.

Starbucks assured him of their support of the military and that the only reason any coffee was not donated was because the official Starbucks donation policy authorizes such gifts to officially designated public charities, including libraries and schools, and that the U.S. military or military personnel do not qualify.
It was not meant to be a comment on the war or the service of military personnel in the war.
The company said that there have been employees that have showed their support through donations of coffee.
Starbucks told us that many of the company's employees (called "partners" by Starbucks) receive one pound of free coffee each week and some of that coffee has gone to members of the military or related organizations.
For example, the employees in the Starbucks in Atascadero, California, decided to send their weekly free coffee to troops in Afghanistan and there are other such stories about Starbucks coffee finding its way into the hands of military personnel.

Here is Sgt. Wright's follow-up email after Starbucks spoke with him:

Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.

Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

Howard C. Wright

Sgt USMC

1st Force Rcon Co

How easy to judge others for their freedom of choice. What a way to get people unfocused on the true issues in regard to the war. I don't believe in the war either. How about the big boycott against Canadian beef by the U.S.A when our previous prime minister said they did not feel they need to be involved in such a war that was not clear in reasoning. What now no one can give their opinion how they feel, and only the war supporters have the right of speech. Come on were in the 21st. century, not in the dark ages. Every one has right even if others don't like it. Peace to All.

I will support them for their strength and for standing up for their morals.

Me, I "boycott" any coffee shop that charges exhorbitant prices, regardless of their stand on the war, etc. But, since you asked specifically about the War and Starbucks etc, it's a hoax about them not supporting the soldiers, etc. Just click on the below link and read the facts, rather than swallowing another rumor.

nicely, this is the 1st that i've got heard of Starbucks or the different business corporation doing this. despite the fact that, i know of Starbucks' recognition for being a in charge company entity, and if this is their way of protesting the conflict, then no longer in straightforward terms will I no longer boycott them, i'm going to seek for them out and take my constrained volume of commercial corporation (i basically can't to pass out for coffee that sometimes) directly to them. i'm going to try this despite if there's a franchise of yet another very good, considerable coffee residing house around the line from me.

Starbucks will likely have an increase in business. They don't submit to Nationalism, brainwashing and bullying.

"Starbucks Donates to Military Personnel Starbucks, our customers and partners believe that it is critically important to support our men and women serving the United States. There are numerous examples of Starbucks Coffee Company and our partners supporting the troops. Each week Starbucks partners receive one free pound of coffee. Many partners have collected their free coffee and shipped numerous pounds of Starbucks coffee overseas. For instance, partners in our Atascadero, California store sent their weekly allotment of coffee to troops in Afghanistan so they would be able to enjoy a little taste of home. Our Customer Relations and Information Technology departments in Seattle donated thousands of pounds of coffee to the sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group and troops in Mosul, Iraq.

These are just a few of the many examples of our partners supporting the troops. We recognize and appreciate the very personal connection customers have with us and how they might miss their Starbucks Experience while serving overseas. Additionally, we are humbled that the troops request Starbucks coffee.

To enhance our partners' outstanding grassroots efforts in support of the U.S. military troops, Starbucks is honored to extend our relationship with the American Red Cross in order to provide more coffee to relief efforts during times of conflict. We are pleased to donate 50,000 lbs of coffee to the American Red Cross for distribution to those troops serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait. The Company is making this contribution through the American Red Cross as part of its long-term, ongoing commitment to share the comfort of coffee during times of crisis."
