Why aren't more people aware of a potentially fatal disease called Anemia?

It's not that they are not aware, but in many people it's not so much of an issue. It can be resolved easily, by getting enough of the right foods. However, you are right, it is dangerous, and something to be careful about. Especially if we are not healthy, or do not have access to those good foods.

Edited: I agree, worldwide it is a large problem, because there is not always and access to the necessary foods.

I think a lot more people than you think are aware of it. It just doesn't get the publicity that, and this sounds terrible to say, more sexy afflictions like HIV and cancers do. When I say more sexy I mean that those are hot-button topics that drum up interest in a newscast and that you can scare people into watching. Most people don't develop anemia or 'catch' anemia. More often than not it's something you are born with so it is something you cope with and learn to live your life around.
The media, however, has a field day with covering HIV and cancer statistics and telling you how many ways you can die or become a 'victim'. If you were the head of newsroom and you have to put out a product that will catch people's attention, would you talk HIV or anemia. They know what will sell and attract viewers. Smart people know that anemia is out there and it is a problem for many thousands of people worldwide. Don't fall into the trap that what they report on TV is the only things that people know about. Savvy people read through the bologna and see the big picture.

I was aware and i dont know anyone that doesn't know about it. I guess alot of people just dont know about it because they are too busy with there everyday life to read or watch the news. also i dont know about everyone else but im a health major so i like learning about health related issues.
