my power strip/surge protector is plugged directly under where i sit at my computer. the wire is kept at a minimal length so i don't pull it out with my foot on accident but it still happens every now and then. is there a product out there to keep the plug plugged into the outlet or do you have an idea how to keep it plugged in?

I have a couple of options you may try. One if the plugs comes out easily or feels loose when you wiggle it, then it is best to replace it with a new one.
This not difficult. Locate your circuit breaker or fuse box and shut off the power to that outlet. With your new one in front of you, take off the old one and make note of the wire position and reverse the steps with the new plug.
If it is not loose you can get some plastic or Velcro ties and secure it to the back of your desk.
Or you can cover the cord that is on the floor with a piece of wood. or screw a hook into the wall next or near the outlet and hank the cord on the hook.
You might also place the power strip off of the floor on the back of your computer desk with the cord over the hook.

Zip-tie will help, but you risk of dragging something else down.
