Whatever you do, don't ever give a pet away "free to good home." Even asking $50 or $75 is better than just giving him away. If people invest nothing in a dog in the first place, you'd be surprised how little they invest in the dog's care after wards. This is not to say that everyone is this way, but I've seen a lot of proof to say otherwise.

Put an add on craigslist under pets if they have that where you are from, although they ask that you require an adoption fee, even if its 25 or 50 dollars. People will sometimes use these "free" dogs as dog fight bait! or for lab testing soooo......Please be careful!! Maybe find a friend of a friend to give the dog to first!!

Try your local newspapers (free ads don't cost anything) and putting ads in local pet and farm/feed stores.
