Faith without works is dead. You show your faith by your works. Therefore no works = no faith.

Do you gain heaven by works or by faith alone.?
BOTH!!!
The age-old question, "Is faith without works dead?"
Sure is! That's what the Bible says! See the book of James.

Only by the grace of God in Jesus Christ can we gain heaven - not by works so that no one can boast. He paid the price for our sin, but be assured, true faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will bring good works. If there are no works and no life change (repentance) by someone who claims to believe, then they are not saved. They can BELIEVE their whole life, but the Bible says that even the demons believe in the one true God.......Are they saved? No.
Many will call Him Lord when they stand before Him at the throne of judgment, but only those whose lives and hearts have shown that they truly know Him will enter into heaven. This is Biblical.
So...grace alone unto salvation, but without works there probably is no real faith. Check out James 2:14- below.
God is good and gracious, but He also has judgment for both the believer and the unbeliever. His judgments are just and right, since He has laid it all out for us in His word. Even those who don't know the word, have the basics written on their hearts and have eternity to ponder.

Faith will lead you to works. If one refuse to do the works, one cannot say one is faithful. Mistakes in works or lack of works due to ignorance, but with faith, the door to heaven will still be opened.

We are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, absolutely. And to receive the grace of Christ, it is important to have faith in Him. But if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. And if a person doesn't really want to do good, perhaps that person doesn't really have faith. Thus, "faith without works is dead."

(James 2:24-26) . . .YOU see that a man is to be declared righteous by works, and not by faith alone. In the same manner was not also Rahab the harlot declared righteous by works, after she had received the messengers hospitably and sent them out by another way? Indeed, as the body without spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.
These scriptures clearly state, "A person is declared rightous by their works and that faith without works is dead."

Jam 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jam 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.
Jam 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jam 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
how could you say you believe in God but not do what he has told us to do. like go out and share the Word, or read the Bible and pray. if you have faith you will do those things. works constitutes a multiple amount of things. like going to church or just sharing the word with a friend. if you believe a light switch turns on a light you will switch the light switch to on. likewise if you believe in God you will obey what he has told us to do.
and using the thief on the cross you have to remember he was still under the old law. the new law did not take effect untill Jesus was glorified and received up into heaven. and then peter preached the new law. and plan of salvation. Jesus did not just say you have to believe on him to be saved.
Joh 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
you may not do as much on the works side like someone else but as i said you at least go to church that is works. if you did not have any faith then you would not go to church. and yes you can loose your salvation as well. the Bible talks that those who do loose there salvation are 7 times worse off then if they never had it in the first place. and believe me i have seen this happen. and to get your salvation back it talks about you cant just ask for forgiveness again. you have already done that. that would be like saying if you kill someone and then truly mean that you are sorry God will forgive you. but you can say you are sorry and not really mean it and then turn around and cont. to murder. or even if you did mean it the first time you can still turn around and cont to murder.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him SHOULD not perish, but have everlasting life.
note the caps on should. it says that whosoever believeth in him should not perish. does not say wont. you can say you believe all you want. hey even Satan believes in him. but Satan is not saved. demons same thing.

We gain heaven by faith, not by works. But Christians are called to do good works for God by loving others as we love ourselves, and as He loves us. So, when we have faith (meaning when we believe in God) then we naturally want to please Him by being obediant to His word. It's just something that comes from having faith. But, "good works without faith" is also meaningless. You can be the kindest, most helpful, generous, giving person on the face of the earth, but if you haven't faith that God exists, your good works are all in vain, for it will not buy your way into heaven.

this is actual that this is an argument that Christians have broadly various critiques on, yet i think of that Scripture makes it sparkling that this is *faith on my own*. in the adventure that your faith isn't generating works, then this is mere psychological assent, and isn't any longer saving faith. As somebody who had a very radical salvation journey, i will aid you be attentive to that there is a *vast difference* between asserting, "Jesus is Lord" --- which maximum human beings could admit to, and having met Him and had faith in Him. with the aid of fact of this this is declared, "faith without works is lifeless." Scripture says, that we are saved by employing grace via faith, and not by employing works, that no it is common to boast. it extremely is the very fact. yet actual saving faith produces a coronary heart substitute that the two produces and facilitates good works. in case you have not got those, this is like asserting you're an apple tree, yet starting to be oranges. Apples do no longer *make the tree what this is*. yet even out of season, an apple tree won't strengthen yet another style of fruit. If it does, it ain't an apple tree. to look at it yet in a diverse way: works are extremely in simple terms faith with legs. in case you have confidence that God is who He says he's, do no longer you have confidence that His commandments and techniques are *actual*, and could no longer you shop on with those?

The bible tells us that faith without works is dead. That has nothing to do with salvation. It has to do with being doers of the word and not hearers only. Ephesians says we are saved by grace, through faith, not by works that any man should boast. A Christian demonstrates they know Jesus Christ by the way they live their life, so yes, we should do what He asks of us. That is doing "good works"..but Jesus alone saves us, not what we do.
