No. It is the Miracle and the survival of the Jewish people. It has something to do with the Solomon temple and the oil in the candles that were suppose to last for only one night, but they lasted for seven nights.

Hanaka sounds like my Japanese friends whom I have never seen for a long time. I don't think he has anything to do with the death of Jesus. He is quite young to live in Jesus time.

Where'd you get that idea? It's a celebration of independence from a king who forced these Jews to follow his god, and not the God of the bible. I don't remember the details. Tagged along to that, there were these candles there were never suppose to be burnet out, but the Jews were running out of oil, and the next time they could get some would be in a week. Yet for those 7 days the candle stayed lit. That's another part of why its celebrated.

If the Jews had not won this first battle of religious persecution, Jesus would not have been born a Jew. There would have been no Jewish people. So Christians have good reason to celebrate Hanukkah right along with the Jews!

No!!!!! Jews aren't Jesus haters....... they just don't believe that he was the son of God! Hanukkah is celebrating how long ago a great miracle happened. There was enough oil for one night but it lasted 8 days. Thus we celebrate 8 days of Hanukkah. Hanukkah is a holiday that has nothing to do with Jesus or death.

Nope, not in the very least! Why? Because Jews don't believe Jesus was the Messiah, so there is no need to celebrate his death!

Chanukkah commemorates the miracle that occurred when the Temple was rededicated after the successful revolution against Antiochus IV. Although there was only enough oil to burn for one day, the oil burned for eight days, long enough to allow additional oil to be prepared. No. Channukah came long before Jesus so there is no connection. Just as there is no connection between any of the prophacies in the Tanakh and Jesus.
