Boy, this is a big garbled, but if I understand you, you want to be able to put XP on a different computer than the one it originally came on. If that is what you are asking, the answer is no. The disk you purchased is probably OEM, which means, 1 license, 1 computer. If you buy a new PC, it should come with an operating system, which may or may not be Windows XP SP2.

You dont need to buy separate Microsoft Windows Disks for each time you buy a new computer.
One licensed disk of Microsoft gives you the permission to install Microsoft OS in as many computers you wish just for your personal use.
Incase, you wish to have some commericial use of the computer, then you need to buy seperate licensed disks from Microsoft.

this is basically it,this is an ordeal version to apply for the journey of xp2. you ought to purchase the residing house windows XP cd and set up it so as to get validation and the protection updates provided via Microsoft. i offered mine,now make it criminal and purchase your individual.

the Microsoft OS .version you have is a *OEM* version if you dont have your produck key for that cd. then you going to be stuck. if you do have your produck key then just install it and when you call microsft to actavate it you may get stuck they will know you are using a *OEM* version so it would be best too buy a new full version

the talkin people at microsoft are so stupid!!! you can install it and when they ask you "what type of computer is it" you give the brand of the computer the dick came with and just get the product key they ask you 4 off the sticker from that same computer !!! SO easy!! good luck!

your ok to use your XP with your new computer... if you have the activation key number .... try to activate it online if you can .....you may have to phone in to activate it though.. that's no big deal.. just tell them you have got another pc....
