If I said a girl was thick, it would be a polite way of saying that she it fat. Someone else could say it and mean something else. Question the person. That is the only way to know for sure.

Thick is not a bad thing by most male standards. It means she has curves in the right places- she's in the middle, not a stick and not fat.

Here, when a guy says it, it means she's not fat or thin. She is in the middle and curvy. Feminine. If I were ever called thick I would take it as a compliment, not an insult.

Actually THICK DOES NOT MEAN FAT!
Thick means someone who isnt a size 0 but isnt a size 13, She is curvy in all the right places. Got nice size thighs to her and a nice butt with a nice little waist line and also big breast sometimes... example me:) I am what u would call thick I am not a fat girl who got rolls but I got curves and a womens body not a little childs body with no meat on it. Get it?

If you are a black man saying that this means you have a nice curvy body like beyonce. She is considered thick and to black men this is a greattttt thing, they love something to hold on to, it does not mean she's fat.

Well reading those other answers has opened my eyes to a whole new slang.
Where and when I come from (Australia and years before most of you) we might say "Thick as two bricks" and what we would mean is "Stupid or unintelligent"

it means shes got some junk in the trunk, shes a little chunky, some guys like em thick. it just means shes got a little extra weight on her. doesnt mean shes ginormous, but she doesnt have a flat belly and stuff, shes just thick

"Thick" does absolutely NOT mean "fat" - It's meant as a compliment usually. Thick means that your not a twig - you've got meat in the right places. It's really a body type rather then anything else - it does not mean "fat".

i know when i call a girl "thick". that to me means nicely shaped. not overweight and not skinny.
