i'm an esthetician and have started recommending it to my customers as a good natural and cheap alternative to over the counter exfoliants. i use it myself and find it works great. there are manufacturers now making microdermabrasion machines that use baking soda instead of other types of crystals. give it a try and good luck!

No- I read in Allure that baking soda in your shampoo takes away all the grease- so that might work for skin as well. The benefit would most likely be that it cuts down on grease/oil, so your face wouldn't break out as much.
Maybe try a bit on a patch of skin, like on your forehead, and if it works you have your answer.
I tried it in my hair, and while it did take away all buildup, my hair became rather dry.
But if you do use it, only use once a week, because if you use it to much your skin will dry out.
good luck, and I hope this helps

you'd benefit from the natural and gentle exfoliant, making your skin brighter. however, it can be a drying agent (good to use the thick paste for pimples/blemishes). If baking soda dries out your face too much, cut down on the use and use the paste only when you need to do a "mask". Good luck & happy New Year!

Baking soda is used in this way because it is an exfoliant.
If you need an exfoliant, it's a nice, gentle one. It's also the cheapest exfoliant there is. If you don't need an exfoliant, stay away from it.

Only if you have really oily skin. Baking soda will dry you up, but its much better than all those man made chemicals you could be messin' with.

I have never heard of mixing it with facial cleaners..but I know that if you add it to your regular hair shampoo....it will help remove the hair products better....hope that can help you...it is sooo much cheaper then buying shampoo that has it already in it.

I've never tried it but I have heard of it. It makes a soft pasty scrub that doesn't scratch your face as other scrubs can and do. And it's natural.
