You have to pick every egg out of your hair, and wash all your blankets real well... If it doesn't work then you might consider cutting your hair, with long hair it's going to be very hard to get rid of.

Since you've had it that long, there is a good chance that you are re-infesting yourself. You'll need to wash ALL of your bedding in as hot of water as you have, (I'd go and buy new pillows instead of trying to wash them), any stuffed animals laying around. You'd probably want to wash your coats as well. Brushes, combs, cloth head bands, ALL of it!!!! Anything that has come in contact with your hair needs to be replaced or washed in hot water. In beauty school, if there was an accidental exposure, the student would take the cape they used on the client and any towels that were used and put them in a tightly sealed garbage bag and let it sit for 48 hours. THEN wash them in hot water. They also have a spray that you can use on your mattresses to kill the critters.
I wouldn't try removing the nits by yourself. You are going to have to have someone help you. There is NO WAY you can get them out yourself. Once you use a lice killing remedy, you have to make sure every single nit is removed from your hair. IF it is not, and there is a chance it is not dead, it will hatch in 10 days to 2 weeks. They always recommend that you repeat the treatment again in 2 weeks, just to catch any that might not have died the first time. If the infestation is bad, you seriously may have to consider cutting your hair, because it could take HOURS to get all the nits picked out....I don't know if I'd have the patience to do that for anyone in my family, and they all tell me I have the patience of Job! If it is any consolation....lice like clean heads! They don't care for dirty heads, but once you get them, you really have to take measures to get rid of them! Good luck!

I had lice when I was younger and it was horrible!! Try standing in your shower and dousing your hair in olive oil (use as much of it as possible) and then keep your hair wrapped in a towel all night. Make sure the towel is wrapped tight!
Then in the morning use the lice combs you can purchase at the drugstore and comb out all the eggs. The oil loosens the eggs and they should come out more easily. That is the problem with lice - the live bugs will die, but they have planted thousands of eggs. Have a relative or friend help you comb your hair. The combing will probably take hours - you literally have to check every strand of hair.

My neices had it for a while when they moved in with me I tried it all also the only thing that worked was equal parts vinager and cooking oil and 10 drops of tea tree oil it cant be the shampoo it has to be the oil. do it when you dont work or go to school or whatever put it on at night soak the head then go to sleep or whatever but keep it on for a while about 10 hours that was what I did. Then wash your hair withh bar soap (cause oil is hard to get out) then wash and condition as normal and ONLY use the lice comb for about 3 to 7 days then it will be gone out of your hair. But rember to dry your clothes and bedding for at least 20 minutes on high heat pillow also. washing dosent kill it only the heat from the dryer does. It worked (they had it so bad it would fall out of there head) the smell is the worst but the damm lice is worst. You can get the tea tree oil at rite aid walgreens anywere like that for about $7.00. good luck

all these potions and notions honestly do not work.. trust me....
what u need to do is get some cheap conditioner and apply that all over the hair, then section the hair in 1/4... with a fine tooth comb brush the hair with it then rinse the comb in hot water but make sure that u tap the brush on somethin to get rid of the conditiioner in between the comb.... each time u do each section put it back in a clip,,, finally brush all the hair back and rinse hair with warm water.... do that every 2-3 days....make sure that u also wash all ur hair brushes or if u can replace them,, wash pillow case in hot water...

i'm sorry, it's disgusting you've had lice for a few months. since it is a recurring problem, you should cut it, even though you don't want to. i think in drug stores, they have rid for hair lice. you could also try vasaline or olive oil and sleep with a shower cap.

I can't believe you've had head lice for a few months!!! Please cut your hair, that would be the first step. Secondly, there is a special shampoo you can buy to get rid of it. Good luck.

go to the drugstore and ask the pharmacist. If you go to a doctor, do NOT let them give you anything with Lindane in it. That stuff will kill you.
