Make up shows a guy that you are attempting to look nice for him. It shows that you are trying to please him. What guy isn't going to like that? But, I agree with the other guy a hint of make up is alot better than a lot of make up.
Enjoy the date. I also recommend reading up on some current events that you think he would be interested in. Music, movies, whatever, It can help when it comes time to talk.

You should were natural make up. Nothing to dark or flashy. Just shades that enhance your features. Or skip the make up. A guy should be impressed by your personality and charm. Not how much make up you cake on.

For a first date I say go with as close to natural as possible. Some mascara, tinted moisturizer, and colored lip gloss.

Natural is better, unless you want to bring out worse qualities as opposed to better ones in the man.

I don't like a girl who looks like she used the Sherwin WIlliams make up line... I prefer a girl with "hints" of make up.
If he likes you without make up, why would you put on additional make up. Be yourself and he'll get to know the real you and not some phony.

subtle make up would be the best, but be careful, too much of it can cause a problem (if it looks unnatural) just be sure that it appears natural
