Just to replace the stock stereo in order to have a cd player. I am leaning towards the Panosonic brand, but have not made up my mind yet. Best sound for the dollar. I have a 98 Ply. gr. voyager.

Pioneer has a lot of good features for aiming sound and tuning. The menus can get a little old after a while, but no one else has any simpler. Some of the Panasonic are pretty nice. They have some of that touch-screen interface and built in amps and stuff. Definitely look at the signal-to-noise ratio if you want something to sound good ~ The lower the number, the better. I would also try http://www.crutchfield.com as a reference point. They charge at retail, but the info that they have is PRICELESS.

Do you want good clear sound or do you want to shake peoples windows when you roll down the street.....Good clear sound can be had with a 200 watt 4 channel amp(actual 60-80 Watts due to overating) a set of,made to fit higher end front speakers and a pair of 10 inch,in a box, rear speakers....if the 10 inch rears do not fit your car you will have to compromise with a set of 6x 9 rears....$300 to $500 bucks will do it.get a radio that plays mp3s and has 4 RCA outputs....No need for Sat.radio unless your into Howard Stern or X rated comedy.......If you want to shake peoples windows...get a life

Pioneer has units that have great sound. the 5800 model is about 160. I have the 7800. That runs about 300 but it has a 16 band equalizer to fine tune your own listening pleasure.

I love Pioneers but thats just me. You can get a nice looking one with plenty of capabilities for just a little over 100 bucks and I've never had one let me down.
