Okay, my cat is a persian/siamese mix (supposedly) She cost $100 from the local pet store, so I guess I should trust them. My question is about their temprament. This dumb thing will stare right at me, and then just knock crap off of my table, or take a swipe at my face for no reason. I've had her for a year. She eats normal, but she always cries and runs in circles before I give her food. She has a clean litterbox as well. And water. I don't know why she's so dumb. I know, pets take after their owners. blah blah, I'm looking for serious answers. Are siamese persians all this stupid, or is my cat just a retard. If so, I'm getting sick of getting gimp animals. My first cat had 2 . inch legs and crossed eyes, my dog is a 26lb chihuahua that eats 1 time per day.

Please do not take offense, but this is probably more a matter of your not being familiar with cat behavior/psychology. Making eye contact and then swiping something off the table is more of a challenge/'hey, pay attention to me' ploy. You may give her attention, but often times it takes a while for you to learn what type of attention she prefers (I learned after 3 years that my siamese mix likes being held over my left shoulder where she can just go limp. She still 'talks' but it is with an underlying purr, so it comes out like a gurgle - go figure!). The swiping at your face is not a cause for concern unless her claws are out, but even then, keep in mind that she could scratch you if she wanted - again, she is more likely looking for attention. Make sure her litterbox versus her food and water are as far apart as possible (if they are too close it causes territorial stress, which causes them to act strangely). Not sure about the crying and running in circles other than she is just excited to be fed. Do not worry, she is not stupid - you may want to try reading a basic book on cat behavior.

No..your cat isn't stupid...she's actually getting your attention! I had a cat that used to do this..especially if I wanted to sleep in..and she wanted me up..one by one things would fly off the dresser until I couldn't take it anymore and got up! Siamese cats crave attention at all times...maybe you don't pay enough attention to her and even though what she is doing gets negative attention...it's at least attention as far as she's concerned. She's not dumb at all..she's very smart actually. She learned that if she does this..you notice her. Not a "gimp" at all...she's a very intellegent cat! Consider yourself lucky to have such an outgoing cat that wants attention rather than one that hides under the bed! Play with her..that's what she wants!

actually, your cat is very smart... smart enough to look adorable in the pet shop so you'd part with a $100 bucks for the privilege of taking her home to take care of her so she can run around in circles as you faithfully lay down her food bowl. Oh, the running around in circles is an ancient siamese ritual to bless the food and rid it of poisons

siamese cats look like little old men and they have a weird way of talking. they like to watch you and have a creepy way of sneaking up on you and they are known to be destructive to get attention. is the cat friendly towards others? did you do something to it, like yell at it? siamese cats think they are people and they can be a little weird. maybe the cat is just reacting to your attitude toward it and the cat just doesn't like you. or, maybe the cat is normal and you're the gimp.

Probably needs love and affection which she did not get from her previous owner,At a young age kittens are meant to be socialised with other kittens and prehandled so they get used to their new owner. Maybe she did not get much socialisation with humans.Siamese Persians are claimed to be superior.
